HP Generated Revenue

I would like some kind of understanding with relation to the following please:

Having swapped to using the subdomains across my accounts (all hubs now indexed some days back), I have upwards of double the traffic I had two weeks ago, and climbing.

My traffic is currently at the same level that it was on the 27th March (post-Panda). In that case, great but ... why is the income level the same this week as it was two weeks ago?

Double the traffic, bearing in mind that in March (for the same views) the income was thus: $8.20 per day. As of now, no increase at all, nada, none, zilch ... it remains as it was, which is: $4.00 per day.

Now - in the event that anyone passes by and starts explaining time of year, seasonality, advertising budgets etc etc, allow me to just point out the following fact: On my sites external to Hubpages, an increase in revenue is commensurate with an increase in traffic.

    So what's going on here?

The bottom line is this: there is no benefit to an increase in traffic if the income doesn't match. Oh and one other thing - Amazon remains 100% ineffective.

Now that the 'ups and downs' seem to have calmed down I have seen an approx 40-50% increase in traffic and for the same period a 40% increase in HP Ads and a 32% increase in Google Adsense.

Amazon is very flat and I have not seen an increase.
      eBay is about the same.

      (This compares June v July).

I am about the same levels as April and May - and about 75% of my pre-panda levels.

I've seen an increase over the last week that will on average (assuming it's a true trend) will bring up to about 85% of pre-panda levels.

I note that I experienced a few dips of traffic:
-Dipped when I was in Beta
-Dipped when my subdomain was changed to my username
-Dipped when every one else started changing to subdomains

For me it's hard to give a true analysis as there are some niches that are slowly dying - but I have noticed some of the more 'quality' hubs I have that never gained traffic are suddenly getting traffic.

I find no logical reason for you not to see an increase in HP Ads though - it'll be interesting to see if there is an official response - and if there is a logical explanation?!

You know, I have noticed that my Adsense has not had any significant positive boosts from the higher traffic over the last few days. I do not think we are getting lower quality traffic from Google for some reason.

The HP Ads CPM have gone up in addition to traffic.  My gut instinct is telling me that "higher paying" HP ads are being served and replacing most of the Google ads.  That would explain the higher CPM for HP and the rather dire click through rate on adsense.

    I could be completely wrong!

Hmmm - doesn't explain the static numbers in Google Ads either!

It may have something to do with bid/ask clicks’ value which is based on Google’s trust to your site. In their eyes, the trust they may have had for your hubs may be very different for pre-panda, post panda, as well as for your new subdomain.

I had just switched HPads back on about a week before the subdomain change, and it did well the first week, but less so since. My Amazon has leapt along with my traffic, but you are right, adsense has not jumped. Despite seeing double the traffic I had this time last month, with HPads on, there is no significant increase at all in my adsense. My cpc and ecpm are almost non-existent, despite the huge increase in traffic from google.com.

Have you made payment each month? I've been scraping across  the threshold each month and my websites have been making a 1/4 of those earnings..its bad my earnings have halved since December.

No it's been every second month since Panda. Every time I turn HP ads off, my adsense never returns though it does rise a bit, so what I've been doing is switching HP ads off each month after I've reached payout which insures I get some kind of income into the house each month. This month I tried it the other way and had adsense only for the first couple of weeks of the month instead of the second, but it still never picked up.
Glad I have HPads to fall back on, it was great at least the first week of the subdomains.

My income is so spikey it's difficult to get a really good feeling for it, but:

HPads is up to a little more that what it was in the few weeks pre-panda.

Adsense is up as well.  This one is harder to tell how much because there was only a couple of weeks between turning on HPads and the Panda hit.  Nevertheless, it is up considerably from what it was a month age.  My CTR is about the same, but I'm getting a lot better clicks.  The combination of more clicks and better paying clicks has helped.

Both of these, though, have only happened in the last week.  Traffic was up prior to that but not income.  Because it has only been that way for a week, it's hard to say what it will be over time, but traffic is still rising - yesterday was the second-best day this year.  It looks to me like the comment from ngureco has a good deal of validity.

The bottom line for me was that the past weeks total income (excluding Amazon which is flat at 0 for the week) is just about what it was pre-panda.

My AdSense increased slightly, but really as mch as it should have given the traffic increase I got.

I don't know about you guys, but my ctr on HubPages is absolutely terrible. I have good numbers across all my personal sites, but HubPages -- I don't know what it is. I'll have to take a closer look at some of the ads my stuff is targeting because my CTR here is killing me.

I almost thing that I did better ctr wise before HubPages did that whole ad re-arranging thing.

Need to add that I don't use HP ads, just AdSense and very, very few Amazon capsules.
