Yesterday I took an article that I had posted elsewhere on the Internet, reworked it a little, and posted it as a hub here on hubpages. I then immediately deleted the article from the other website where it had been posted. When I logged on last night, the hub had been flagged for duplicate content, even though I wrote the content both places myself, and deleted the previous publication. Is this because of Google's cache? Do I need to take the article down first from the other place? If so, how long do I need to wait before trying to republish here?
Thanks!
Lasca
contact the staff and tell them the original has been deleted.
That was my first thought too, but how do you contact them? I must be missing the link!
Even if you delete it the stuff remained indexed in Google for weeks and months. Happened to one of my hubs. You've done all you can in writing to HP Staff.

Why does my hub keep saying it is a duplicate? It is my work. I even made many changes many times.I deleted it, rewrote it and tried to publish it again, after having made many changes. Still it says duplicate. It should not say this. It is my work.

I notice several disgruntled Hubbers on Eric's new Hub, saying they're leaving HubPages because of the duplicate content flags. They seem to be misunderstanding what the dup content flag is all about - either they think they're being penalized, or that the flag means they have to delete the Hub.I...

I used to have an eHow account, but when they closed the Writer's Compensation Program back in May/June, I removed my articles from the site and deleted my account.A couple days ago, I republished one of the articles here, and yesterday I got an email informing me that the hub had been unpublished...
