Hubpage needs to use a tool that when hubbers answer or moderate comments that the commenter's response block shows up instead of having to scroll past comments that have already been answered.  Digg.com uses the method of having to scroll past other articles to submit your article in the hopes of you finding an interesting article to read during your scroll.  However, Hubpages needs to cut to the chase and let the commenter box be available without having to scroll past comments that have been answered.

Perhaps they could insert a top of page or bottom of page button, or even a "jump to last comment" one....

Never really was a problem to me - but at that I probably just don't receive enough comments smile

You can edit the Comments Capsule so the most recent comment appears first...

But that still means the Comments box is at the bottom, right?

I use this feature on my hubs that have over 100 comments, but I still don't like it 100% because it leaves most recent at the top, so to comment you have to scroll to the bottom past the rest of the older comments. Then if you think you've missed something you wanted to respond to, you have to scroll back up.

I end up posting a few words, then editing the comment. This way when you post the few words it goes to the top next to the one you're trying to respond to. I edit and answer everything that needs to be answered. It's just a pain, but it's loads too slow to leave all of the comments up.

This is another reason I use the show most recent # comments feature, but they user still has to scroll/page down/end to the very bottom to leave their own comment, which is fine if the comments box is the last thing on the page, but some people put pictures and other capsules under that, which means you still have to scroll back up to find the box. Most unregistered users don't want to have to read through all the comments because they like asking the same questions as everyone else, and if they read they'd know the answer, but they're situation is always different...

I think this is a good point. Personally - I would like to see an "answer this comment" option in the comment moderation page. I often have multiple comments to answer and it would be far faster than going to each hub and scrolling down.

    Good suggestion. smile

I'd love to be able to respond to individual comments on the moderation page too instead of having to go to each hub to do so.

      Great suggestion, Mark.

Would it be at all possible to have each comment with its own thread but still appear on the same page as the original hub.
something like a 'more' button so that you can follow a specific comment thread. ? Then the comments line would not be so long !

    Two points:

folk can be put off at having to scroll down through a long list of comments to get to the end -- I was for a while, when I joined

scrolling through the comments and reading what they add to the discussion, I now realize, is part of the fun of reading a really good hub.
