google Adsense a/c

   I applied for the adsense a/c about a week back. After activating the a/c partially a few days back today the status message in the earnings settings showed the message that the a/c has been disabled due to TOS violations. The email which I received says:
   
   As mentioned in our welcome email, we continue to review your AdSense
   application once AdSense code is placed on your sites. As a result of this
   review, we have disapproved your account for the following violation(s).
   
   Issues:
   
   - Unacceptable site content
   
   ---------------------
   
   Further detail:
   
   Unacceptable site content: In order to participate in Google AdSense,
   publishers' websites and application information must satisfy the
   following guidelines:
   
   *Your site must have been active for at least 6 months before you apply
   for AdSense.
   *You must provide accurate personal information with your application that
   matches the information on your page.
   *Your website must contain substantial, original content.
   *Your site must comply with Google AdSense program policies.
   
   My hubpages a/c is over 6 months old. I have published 10 original hubs.
   I never clicked on any ads.
   Can veteran hubbers explain what went wrong?

   In the US you can't claim a product has therapeutic effects (cures disease) without scientific support and preferably FDA trials and approval.  That might be your problem. (e.g. you assert that lemon juice cures intestinal worms)

   There should be no problem with natural cures.  Did you apply for your Adsense account using the HubPages earnings section?  Also, do you have any other blogs or websites that may be considered spam?

   Yes, there can be a problem with natural cures if you make a therapeutic claim.  Making a therapeutic claim makes the substance a "drug" even if it is a food, regulated by the FDA and they require that you have scientific proof for the claim.  You can make general health claims but specifying the ability to "treat" or "cure" a condition is a legal problem.  I am not saying I agree with this, but it is the law.  And Adsense is averse to any content that even looks like it might not be legal.
   
   Under US law saying garlic cures stomach cancer, treats scorpion stings and prevents cholera is not legal, saying so on a commercial website (where you earn money from the assertion) is quite possible fraud.  The chances of being prosecuted are low (unless someone tries to cure their scorpion sting with garlic, has a limb amputated and sues you) but the chances of not getting Adsense are rather higher.

      psycheskinner,do you think removing the word cure and replacing it with benefit would solve the issue?

   In my experience as long as you avoid using the words cure or treat you are okay.  So 'help with', 'benefit', 'support the health of people suffering from' etc is safe. This is what people who market vitamins and homeopathic remedies do.

      One more thing that struck me just now is whether specifying the quantity that is number of cloves in case of garlic or the number of spoons  of juice, of say, lemons would attract disabling of Adsense?

         Rajan, just send a mail saying you have been on this site for 6 months and have 10 hubs, this is a normal message from G to Indians. I have heard and seen this for so long.. relax and reapply.
         Start a blog,.. and post continuously for a months.... this has helped a few of my friends.
         G  just wants to make sure that you are serious about online writing and not spamming..

         I seriously doubt that, natural alternative medicine would attract this penalty. If this is true the many Ayurveda and homeopathy sites would be off Google search results.
         I would believe that this is a standard piece of information sent out by G to its Asian users. I had this nonsense saying I had unacceptable content on my hubs..and so have many others.
         Just do a search on the for adsense rejection on the forums here and you will find that almost all Asian writers get the same standard response from G.
         This is one of the reasons I keep responding to these questions from Asian hubbers on these threads because I have experienced it first hand.
         Things have changed and become tough in the last year and a half for Asian users.
         I hope that you do not see it as something wrong with your hubs.. and don't get discouraged. Keep writing.

            Sofs , I too searched my hub  title after my account was disconnected and found my title searchat number 4 on the 1st page of google search. If google doesn't stop showing the disconnected accounts' website in its search results then I guess what you are saying is correct in toto.
            I too find a lot of articles on the net that have google ads on natural therapies with the word cure in them.
            Thanks for the encouragement, I need it right now.
            As for writing, I have found my niche in hubpages, so there's no stopping me.
            I am so glad you responded. It's like the proverbial shot in the arm.
