How does organ donation work in your Country? In England and Sweden we have to sign organ donation papers' before we die.

The problem in Engand and in Sweden is, donated organs are rare.......some other dialysis patients in the same clinic as myself have been waiting 8 or more years', for a kidney transplant......I was just thinking should the Goverments of both Countries work on some new laws regarding organ donation?

Simply because all cancer's are on a rapid increase across the world and in the next ten year's, I read it is predicted that 1 in 3 people will have some kind of cancer?........in 20 years it will be 1 in 2 people with cancer..

      Just a thought

      Thanks for the replies............

Bye the way how can I spell check my replies? Thanks.

I am a organ donor. I just signed up for it when I got my drivers license. It's pretty simple here in America.

Right. I'm donating my organs, and once they're taken, I'm donating my body to the Body Farm.

For real. It's in Tennessee. They study the effects of decomposition on bodies.

I think you have to leave your used pipe organ on the side of the road, then wait for a big truck to come haul it away.

I seem to recall reading in china that they use criminals for organ donation - in my mind a good use!!

It is good use, but I read somewhere that the prisoner's or thier families are not asked?

I like the assumed consent for most cases. But, that starts stepping on some toes with religious beliefs.

I have a Kidney transplant from my brother, that I received 15-years ago.He was a perfect mach, and as a result, I have always been on relatively lower dosages of anti-rejection drugs over the years. In the states, as mentioned, you can sign up as a POTENTIAL donor and have the information on your drivers license, as that is the document that is most likely to be with you at most times.
This is a convenience for the system to get a jump on the final and still complicated harvesting process.
There is still a lot of debate here on how to manage the selection process for recipients once they have a donor organ, and that is a very complex subject.
As to your comment on the increase in Cancers, is there any doubt as to the possible cause?  Just go pretty much anywhere and buy something to eat, whether it is; fast food, restaurant food, supermarket food, or roadside stand food.  The take it to have it analyzed for chemicals. If the results don't scare the Hell out of you, I will be very surprised.
