What if the Lord presented himself TODAY to every nation, and then returned to where he came from?
I don't think that everyone would believe it!
And those that did believe would tell their children and they will tell their children etc. etc.
How many generations will pass till the story changes and this also falls into the category of Myth.
After All .. we are human.
Jerami, we have many more ways to document events now. If God appeared to all, simultaneously, there would be no reason to doubt His existence.
His actions during the manifestation would determine how he was perceived. If his behavior was less than godlike then of course our opinions of who and what He was would quickly diverge.
That is true ... However; one of the problems would be that that everyone will be making their own determinations differently.
I don't perceive that as a problem jerami. Our unique perspectives are a fact of life. If God exists, that is by design. Fighting, arguing or debating who He is is what we do. That is, imo, the travesty. He is who we perceive him to be. By design if there is one. That is the problem that must be resolved. I think, until we do, we will forever deny ourselves the answers we seek.
Again ... I agree.
Which, I think, is saying what I was insinuating.
We, being who we are, perceive most everything differently than the person standing next right next to us.
Maybe? This could be one of the most important lessons of life that many of us are missing?
I think, most of us don't miss it. The problem is it's impossible to live it. I firmly believe what I've said, but I have no problem debating (however poorly) this. I should simply sigh and accept that people think what they think; but it's really hard to when people make audacious comments and imply the spiritual level can be as hateful and judgmental as the worst behavior patterns among us.
OOPS got busy in the other room
I don't think we are debating OR disagreeing for that matter.
Quite often, here in forums, we are saying the same things but have our eyes focused differently.
Therefore, it seems kinda like a disagreement. When in reality, ???
I agree. Which I usually do with what you say, when I understand what you've said. I was just running my mouth. If more people were like you, the conversations here would be more productive, imo.
Your Lord never presented himself to every nation in the past, yet you believe in Him as do many others.
In fact, didn't your Lord only show himself to one single person, alone, with no one else to witness the event?
Didn't mean to have to quit earlier! I'm back for a little while?
Ya know? You do a lot of assuming about what everyone else is believing!
You must think you are psychic. If I believe one thing, you think I believe all of it?
Don't get me wrong, I know you don't believe all of what your God has instructed you to believe. Cherry picking scriptures is all the rage amongst Christians.
First of all I apologize for my sporadic attendance.
Posting and then .... absent This is beyond my control

I would have to agree that I do not agree with much of what other people ... SAY ... that God instructs me to do.
However, Life on earth seems to be a work in progress for us.
God does not instruct everyone exactly the same.
There are basics rules which apply to all, like showing up to work on time, working well with each other, etc;
The electrician, plumber, and the painter would be ineffective following the exact same directives as the others.
I'm not thinking very well this AM, but you get the idea?
"After His resurrection, the Lord appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers/sisters at one time" (1Corinthians 15). About seven New Testament eye witnesses for about three years of Jesus Christ, writing books about Him. And also Josephus, Tacitus, Plynee De Younger, and about five others who were not Christian believers, that document Him and His miracles, claims, life, etc.
'We are all humans' is not the answer but the question itself.....
What is this thing called human? For God has shown himself in them and to them yet they create false gods unto themselves to worship....while still saying ..........oh god where are you?.....
Actually, no. It's rumored He wandered around Rome for a little while, but that's about it.
Rome? I was talking about Crossing the desert for 40 years and Mount Sinai
Now that you mention it ???
You might be right.
Yep! You are!
Ah ha! Yeah. I don't know that people have changed that much since then.
If something appeared making that claim, I'd know that they were lying. Gods are not possible, period.
Obviously this thing could have powers we couldn't understand. That doesn't make them anything special and the fact that it was trying to fool people with those tricks would make me even more determined to out them as the fraud they obviously are.
The other possibility would be that they are deranged. They actually believe in their own hype. If that seemed to be the case, I'd feel great empathy and sadness for it - while still remaining wary, of course.
Now, Jerami, let me ask you something similar. Unlike your scenario, this is within the realm of possibility.
A highly advanced creature appears. It explains that yes, it was responsible for the initial creation of our universe and that it does care about the intelligent life that arose from that physics experiment that it was running in another existence. It has been scouring our universe looking for intelligent life and is happy to have found us. It is deeply disturbed by our religious aspects and explains that most of the life it has found has outgrown such primitive nonsense. It is surprised and dismayed that we still have so much of it. It wishes to help us out with technology and other wisdom it can impart, but it is concerned by this deeply ingrained religious thought that is so prevalent in our population. It wonders whether it may have misjudged our intellectual capacity.
What then, Jerami? I think I know your response: you'd think it was the Great Satan, come to deceive us. While the rest of us did a massive face-palm, you'd be praying furiously, right?
Do buildings have builders? Did someone build the house you live in? Do paintings have painters? Design comes from a designer. So look at the starts, universe, trees, plants, animals, humans, etc., there is Designer infinitely more intelligent the designer of a building therein. "For what may be known about God is seen in the creation/nature/universe," (Romans 1).
Oh s--t i am sorry ... I just now saw your comment.. It must have looked like I was ignoring it!
To answer your question. ??
It wouldn't be hard for me to believe ... A good bit of what you suggest.
BUT, I'd ask that caring being, OK .. then please give please us another step up the ladder, SO that we can be nearer to where you are at??
If the lord showed himself, we would laugh and then have him commited by the men in the white coats for being dillusional and then whilst the lord sits in his padded cell trying to work out why.. We will happily get on with our lives

The debate of whether God exist ( and that he created the Universe, and thus intelligent life on earth) has been the subject of so much debate, rational or otherwise, on HubPages. Atheists base their non-belief mantra solely on the fact that God could not be perceived by their 5 senses. Theists...

"I am not an atheist. I have a rational fear of God, and yet the common sense to ignore it." The Bible gives us an idea about how to be accountable for our actions, while also giving us a pair of scapegoats. On one end you have Hell (a place we go when we have sinned too much). On the...
