Is HP counting our own editing page views?

Every time I create a hub and save the draft, I notice there are page views that show up BEFORE I publish it. Sometimes the page views show up before I've saved it as unpublished. Is HP counting all our editing page views?

I asked the same question about two weeks ago.  A Hubber said that when you go back into edit, it does count as a page view.  So, before publishing I might go back several times to edit something I forgot to do.

    All views are counted.

Sure - but why are the page views counted BEFORE we publish the hub? I even create the first few drafts on my word processors offline, then paste it in. I only review the draft on HP, before publishing, to see how it will look, so I can adjust things like paragraph spacing and capsule formatting.

I also should mention that sometimes, after I publish a hub, I've gone back to look at it, but the page view isn't counted. So weird.

When editing a hub, it's automatically considered a view. If you just travel to a hub, then you need to be on the for a period of time for it to register as a view. If you managed to get off the page before it's counted as a view, then it won't register.

As for why are unpublished views counted? Because, that's the way HP prefers it.

Well, I decided to do what I should have done. I visited one of my hubs that has had no page views in the last 72 hours, and had the window open for about 15 minutes. I'll check my stats periodically to see if the page view got recorded.

They update the statistics page once an hour or something like that. Your statistics page is a rolling 24 hour clock. So it will appear sooner or later.

Yep - sadly, it turns out all our editing page views are counted. I can't for the life of me come up with a good reason for HubPages to do this.
