What are your thoughts about the series...Once Upon A Time?

   I watched the Once Upon A Time marathon the other day, and I was quickly hooked.
   What a great idea this show is! People from a fairy tale world sent to a very American-like small town, falling victims of a powerful curse, from an evil
   queen who is also the town's Mayor. (And she's a total bitch!)
   
   The best part is how they easily transfer us between worlds, by really great
   story telling. The only thing I don't get is why the boy who seems to know everything about this curse, is allowed to carry around the book that tells everyones story, when he is living with the person who cast the spell? It seems to me that she would want to get rid of that book ASAP!!
   
   There are some familiar charactors, like Snow White, and Prince Charming.
   The evil Queen with the talking mirror, and the very creepy Rumplestilskin.
   But this aint Disney folks. It's very dark almost Tim Burton death, and fire, and brimstone.
   
   I think it's one of thew best ideas to come to TV in a long time. But, it could be because I'm sick of all the law and order PU shows. One more Cop drama, or bazillionth episode of the bachellor, (Barf alert)and I will spend all of my
   time watching DVDs.

      I love it because it is different and I also am a believer in fairy tales. Watching it with my boyfriend is pretty painful because he says its predictable and loves to point out all the plot holes. For instance, if you watch the first episode they say the mayor doesn't even know that they're under a curse. Later they just pretend they never said that. He did like this weeks episode better because they explained Rumplestiltskin.
      
      Anyway, it's probably my favorite new show.
      
      As for "this ain't Disney folks" did you hear they announced they're doing Into the Woods and are promising to keep at least mostly to the original storyline? I guess we'll see.
      
      And also... if you like OUAT you should consider checking out Grimm. It's kind of a cop drama, but the cop happens to be a Grimm and all those murderers and child abductors are actually fairy tale characters that we've all heard about. It's just that he's the only one that can see what they truly are.

   It is intriquing from many aspects.
   I have to admit though, the big draw for me is Emma!  Independent, strong, gorgeous blonde woman.  Reminds me of Blondepoet!

   I really like it. It doesn't follow the fairy tales perfectly, but that's okay. I think it is very creative. It is also fairly clean so far, which means my kids can watch it with me.

   This show was much better when it was called The 10th Kingdom.
   
   Ha ha, in all seriousness though. I can't enjoy it because it is too maddeningly similar to the year 2000 mini-series I mentioned. Bleh.

   I like it much better than I thought I would. It didn't sound like anything I'd be interested in, but it's really good. Also it's something my 12 year old granddaughter and I both like which is rare these days.

   My wife loves it. I like watching with her to see who they are going to have in the show and then see their alternate personna. I'm stoked see what they do with the "wolf" from Red Riding Hood. We've seen Gramma and Red, now I'm ready for the wolf and the axe weilding lumberjack!!

   I really like it mostly because I love fairy tales in any form (classic, modern, etc) that I'd give anything a try. I think they come up with some really good twists to the classic stories while still holding true to the original works. I can't wait to see how they handle BEAUTY AND THE BEAST because that's my favorite Disney movie ever. And although I think it gets a bit too dramatic at times (some characters need to seriously lighten up), I love it.
