In another long running thread honoring the death of a US military member that I will not post a link to out of respect from the OP, because comments about this subject do not belong there. A “member” of this site, yesterday, in my opinion totally disrespected the OP and intention of the thread for the sole purpose of pushing their own political agenda and promoting their affiliations.

I find the post in this particular thread heartless, self-serving, contemptible and a disgusting display of “troll-er-ism”.

The below comment is specifically addressed as a response to the person that put up the offfensive post:

“Can’t you, for just a moment, stop pushing your agenda? For crying out in the dark, a man loses his son while serving this nation and you can’t even offer your condolences, but you will take advantage of his demonstration of mourning and tribute as an opportunity to promote your political garbage.
You know who you are, common decency alone demands the removal of the post from the thread, it is totally disrespectful, offensive and certainly not appropriate.”

I invite comment. I know without reading the thread it may be difficult, however the thread is really not that hard to find if you explore profile activity, and it certainly is not the place for comments to be posted about this subject.

While I certainly don't think that was right if it was indeed an attack, I will not look for the thread. I have seen you turn perfectly balanced arguments on the forum into attacks too. No one is above it.

The thing is, with freedom of speech you have to accept the good with the bad.

I did find that thread and obviously the offending post has been removed. Maybe this thread should also be deleted?

NO the offending post has not been deleted, it is still up. And I would be happy to remove this forum in response to such a removal or at the request of the OP of the other thread.

And yes I have at times aggressively defended my position or that of someone else and/or asserted an opinion or statement, but usually as response to an attack, assertion, or statement that is misleading, wrong or in a blatantly politicized and hotly contested debate. I don't apologize for it. I have also observed you, like many others, do the exactly the same. I cannot recall ever attacking an individual personally, or intentionally offending anyone. I may have destroyed their posted opinion or position but that’s debate.

I take umbrage with this particular post because it serves no purpose other than to espouse a political agenda with total disregard for the OP or his intentions for the thread that contains absolutely no political agenda whatsoever, just the thoughts of a grieving father for his son. This was posted by a person that constantly trolls the forums looking for opportunities to propel a focused myopic political campaign, almost as if a paid political activist.

This post is not that dissimilar than anti-war protestors showing up at a military funeral and scornfully mocking the family of a fallen soldier.

I have very rarely attacked anyone on the forums and then it was mild compared to others. I don't do the old leftist/rightist arguing. I don't call people names, I don't attack their country if I disagree with them. Please show me where I attacked someone based on politics... I usually just state my opinion.

All sides accuse people of trolling and being paid. I don't know who you are talking about but I think I do... some people do get carried away...on all sides.

I don't hear of anti-war people showing up to protest funerals of soldiers, I usually hear about the Westborough Church doing that.
