Buddha did not approve atheism/agnosticism/skepticims

   My point is that the teachings of Buddha and his style as we see in this short chapter are not that of the atheists/agnostics/skeptics; they never tell such things publicly and or are never worried to eradicate such evils from the society or to purify it. So, Buddha does not belong to them.

         He is an icon and an atheist.  Because he (as recorded in various texts) did not believe in a deity, finding enlightenment through a deity, or any recorded religion.
         
         "Do not accept what you hear by report, do not accept tradition, do not accept a statement because it is found in your books, nor because it is in accord with your belief, nor because it is the saying of your teacher. Be lamps unto yourselves. Those who, either now or after I am dead, shall rely upon themselves only and not look for assistance to anyone besides themselves, it is they who shall reach the topmost height."

            Christopher Hitchens in his book "God is not great" says in Chapter Fourteen
            "There Is No “Eastern Solution", meaning thereby that there is no solution in Buddha's religion; hence it is evident that atheists/agnostics/skeptics don't believe that he was an agnostic/atheist or skeptic.
            
            Buddha had a religion, rather he was a founder of a religion, while agnostic/atheist and skeptic pronounce they have no religion.
            
            Am I right?

      I am not talking of the perosn "Emile R" whom Buddha does not approve. I am talking of the concept of atheism/agnosticism/skepticism; Buddha does not approve those who belong to these concepts and does not belong to them; he does not own them.
      
      Buddha talks of purity of self and the self-at-large the society; is there any concept of self-purity or purity of the society as did Buddha want?
      
      I don't think so.

      "All acts of living creatures become bad by ten things,

      If Agnostics think of Buddha as one of their icons; and Buddha does not approve of them; I think it should matter to them. Wont it?

            @emile buddha was revolutionary in his times...when people or so called prophets where more concerned about concept called god , buddha said that is non important thing to do...He was non committal as far as god goes ....he was more concerned about human nature , its suffering and how it was be eradicated...he never promoted seeking interference of some unproven entity to solve humans problem...Einstein rightly said that Buddhism is only religion which would be compatible with science in future...since it has to do with human nature , human thought....

   I was always under the impression that Buddha made it clear that Buddhism had no set belief on there being a God or not... Buddhism is more of a philosophy than anything. Therefore, someone can be both a Buddhist and an agnostic/atheist/theist? At least that's what I was taught in my Religion courses, and I seem to get just by with it.

   Buddha didnt feel that humanity was at a level to have an awareness of God, so why define such a concept.
   Atleast that was what I was taught in Catholic school.
