I have an article about a transsexual where the ads are disabled. http://chuck-bluestein.hubpages.com/hub … op-Star-16 I saw that the other articles about transsexuals (linkied to my article) had ads on them. I read that they perodically review this and maybe change it. Is there a way for me to bring this to their attention or should I just wait for a periodical review.
I did what subjects they do this with and this is on the cusp or fringe.
This time I did see where I could bring it to their attention and did. Although this is not a new article and I did not see this warning until today when it started getting a lot of traffic from Pinterest.
I guess you should mail them or report it somehow. I guess you've reported the problem already. Sometimes when new changes are made (new banned words or something) the algorithm auto disables ads on all those hubs I guess. Not too sure though as it's never happened to me.
I don't think information about LGBT or related, should flag anything to do so, would be like, gender discrimination, would it not?
If it been manually disabled by a moderator then you need to email the url to the hub team to find out what the problem is. You need a human moderator to re-enable ads. If it is an automatic filter then you can experiment by changing words until the ads come back.
The whole thing seems silly to me - innocent words like nipple or breast (if you use too many of them) can trigger the automatic filter.
This is the message that I got: "Thank you for your email. Your Hub was discovered by our filter because it contains information on the sexuality of children. This content is considered too sensitive for advertisers."
The girl is 16 and that is a child. But there is another hub about two 16 year olds getting sex change and the ads are enabled on that one. ( http://izzym.hubpages.com/hub/Worlds-Yo … Operations ) But mine has info about one 16 year old and an 8 year old living as a girl. So I emailed them and if asked if that is where the problems lie (8 year old).
Maybe just delete the ages and use 'young' or 'younger' girl try to write 'referring' to or 'vague' reference to the subject, usually helps.
Like I said the other ad was about two 16 year olds and that was OK. Also that is the base of the article-- youngest sex change. The age is the most important part. Otherwise it is one out of hundreds.
The seven year old you reference is not a "sex change", and really is not related to the overall subject of your hub which is about a transsexual, where as the young girl is transgender. With that in mind, and if that is the reference that is blocking your ads, I would take the unrelated transgender paragraph and link out of the hub.
Just my thoughts after reading your hub and the hub you linked to as well that had the ads on it.
Well, writing about children wouldn't be too popular due to the - exploitations that occur just saying.
I suppose seeing my hub is referenced, I ought to comment here too.
One major difference I see in the two hubs is that I concentrated more or the emotional aspect of the sexuality of those girls, while you made a lot of references to the physical. I also did not mention children except to explain how bullied and 'different' those boys/girls felt at school.
It is a mystery to me why they ban ads on one hub and not another around a similar topic, but bringing another hub to the forums is almost suggestive of saying "Hey look hubstaff, ban the ads on this hub too".
Thanks a lot for that (not). It might also be said you stole my topic, you even worked the title almost the same. I expect you knew my account has been sandboxed by Google for months, and that all my keywords are easily beatable.
Thanks again!
The article that I wrote I got from a news story. I did not see your article until after I wrote mine. It was news. My title was similar to the news story. If you write a story about Ron Paul being elected for president, will all other articles about that be someone stealing your idea. It is NEWS. All articles about this subject (transsexual) that were linked to me had ads enabled.
I asked HP if I removed the info about the 8 year old girl, will that make it OK for ads, but have not got an answer. I did not know that you were sandboxed by Google. What did you do it make that happen so I do not do it?
I mentioned on an article that a guy on a plane urinated on a girl and was kicked off the U.S. skying team. I did not make it up. It was news. I have a post on a blog that a vegetarian became a supercentinarian (110 years old). I did not make up the story. It was news but I did make up a title that rhymes.
While we are on the topic of ad disabling. My hub that I recently published: http://rsamuel92.hubpages.com/hub/Lolit … kaze-Girls Had a moderator disable my ads. I'm not quite sure what exactly is the sensitive content here?! No mention of anything sexual or any "touchy" subjects that people may get offended with. It's just my review of a comedy movie of two opposite girls becoming friends. I don't know what's wrong? Kamikaze? Lolitas? Not to mention, there is another hub published prior to mine about the same movie: http://davidlev.hubpages.com/hub/Kamikaze-Girls . Apparently, his ads are not disabled. I'd just prefer if they gave me a specific REASON to why they disabled my ads, that's all.
I wish people would not link other similar hubs on this forum.
It's like cliping to the the teacher. "Look Miss, he did it too!"
All that will happen is that the other hub will gets ads disabled too.
If you have an issue take it up with staff - team@hubpages.com.
I'm sorry, but I'm not whining. It's called double standards. I did take it up with the staff and the Moderator's Note was "Pants". I just want a clear reason to WHY it was disabled, that's all I want to know. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, I even messsaged the author asking if he had issues at first with his hub.
Sorry I was just so mad at the OP for getting my ads disabled and you got in the firing line!
I agree with Dale, I think it is the title. Certain words in the title trips the filter, and HP staff prefer to err on the side of caution rather than risk losing their Adsense account, which is understandable.
Unfortunately without the title - which seems to have total relevance to your hub - your hub will likely not get found in the search engines.
It' just a case of avoiding certain words while writing on HP. I am moving my sex change hub off HP as soon as I have chased up all the folk who have copied it, if there are any.
I don't write for free.
I agree Izzy. There are some subjects and matters that need certain words in the title to rank in Google. As we all know, the sensitivity of the filters and Google are strange. You will see what I consider a "mild" word being filtered and blocked in a hub, and then you will see a "strong" word simply sitting there reaping the rewards of not being blocked. I hope that makes sense, lol. I don't want to trigger any filters here.
Out of all my hubs, I have ran into the situation where I have had to keep tweaking the title to get the ads back up and running on three hubs, and one hub, I simply moved to another site for the same reasons as mentioned, that the article "needed" that word in the title to make it rank in Google.
Again, look at the title. Lolita implies a underage female.
I agree, I don't think that posting links to specific hubs is a good thing. It is a means to generate traffic in my way of thinking.
Ah, yes lolita. I forgot about the other meaning of it other than the fashion reference. So if I remove that word, from the entire hub, it will be better? I just wish that I was told properly what was wrong, rather than guessing and checking. Nevertheless, thank you for your help.

Are we not supposed to be notified by e-mail when we get Ads disabled on HP, or do we just happen across them as I keep doing?I had three disabled this morning and not a word from HP as to why. And it's a moderator and not a filter. It'd help a whole lot if they take the time to disable ads, they...

Dear hubteam and fellow hubbers,I have recently posted a hub on how to beat recurrent yeast infections (wastelessproject.hubpages.com/hub/5-home-remedies-to-beat-recurring-yeast-infections). I have to admit that I was really taken aback that a hub would be evaluated as unsuitable for ads just...

Does hubpages disable ads on hubs pertaining to suicide?I'm currently working on a hub about the increase in suicide rates in February due to the loneliness that some people face around Valentine's Day, and it's been marked as having ads disabled for the hub. The hub itself does *not* (in any way)...

Initially perplexed and frustrated, I have quickly decided Hubpages have brilliant web content protection. They blocked a hub I started to write from generating advertising revenue. Why is this good? Well, as genuine as the hub was, relating to Christmas and presents and my teenage daughter, it was...

Now don't get me wrong, I totally love writing on Hubpages and being a part of the Hubbing community, but I have lost a little heart recently when one hub of mine on "How to Improve Male Fertility" had the ads disabled based on automatic filters. This problem I reported in order to have...
