I am doing a small survey, Please vote.

What do you think is the best thing to do during recession

A: Just hang on to your job.
B: I am looking for a job even though I am in one now.
C: I lost my job, so looking for one.
D: Job or No Job: Keep updating your skills, it always helps.

How do you update your skills?

A: I am a self learner, buy a few books and read it myself
B: I cannot do it myself, I am heading back to College
C: I look for cheaper resources online (like pay per course/topic)
D: I look for free resources on the internet

    Just curious guys and gals!
    Thank you for your answers.

Hang on with your existing job or if you have lost your job due to recession, try to get a new one. Read my Hub on how to find a job during recession. Publish 100 Hubs in 30 days and earn some cash.

      Was that helpful?

But will publishing 100 hubs be able to replace a day job and you have not answered my second question. I will take a look at your hub.

Internet itself is a bundle of knowledge. I had NO KNOWLEDGE of HTML or website designing till a couple of years back. I learnt everything on my own using DIY Trial and Error. Now I have 2 websites, 25 blogs and over 350 Hubs that make me around $30-50 per day. Did this answer your question?

I joined a couple of months ago and felt the same way. But after 2 months and 34 hubs I see more money coming in. I am not ready to quit my day job yet. smile But from a few cents a week it has become a few dollars a week.

Keep writing about topics that interest you and also keep in mind the reader. Make sure they are interested by it too.

Never quit keep writing and in another 2 years you'll be advising newbies on the forum about making money on HubPages.

These aren't in your survey, but I'd say keep your job and try to have a second income as well.

Some skills don't particularly need updating, but learning new ones (however you can learn them) is never a bad idea.
