Length of Hub

   Is there an ideal number of words and images for a hub? Is keyword strength a factor and different from keyword density? For example, if I write a hub of 1500 words and my keywords appear 5 times is that hub likely to rank higher than say a 500 word hub with keywords written only 2 times, given everything else is equal?

      Mine all vary. I have never concentrated on the amount of words used in a hub. I have a few under 500. Most average 500 to 600 with some going over 2000. I have heard various theories on the amounts, but I have yet to make a solid determination with my hubs in that regard.

         This is the beauty of the hub that you can vary the length according to:
         
         readership
         topic
         no of photos
         writing style
         time
         
         the list goes on. Whatever the length it's the quality that counts!

   There is no perfect length for a hub. It's a good idea to have it over 500 words though, and personally I've found over 1,000 works best in the long run.
   
   Putting in TOO many keywords is called "keyword stuffing" and can mean you get less search engine views.
   
   Try using synonyms instead.

      OK many thanks for that. I guess if you're going for content that lasts, has stamina, it could be a longer hub, whereas short hubs might be better for fillers and how to's? Either way it is an art getting the right blend to work.

   It just depends on the topic your writing about. Try to cover everything in the hub. If its too big and you can make a series of hubs (different titles - each of them a capable of standing on their own) then go for it. Most of my hubs are over 1k words. Just 2 are 800 or so and 1 is below 500 words (My latest one - I hesitated before publishing as I'm not used to small hubs).

   I agree with WryLitt completely
   
   But apparently you should measure the length of any hubs on the subjects of Carbon Credits or Global Warming, by the length of your own footprint!
