If I had a friend, of which I could not prove the existence of, how would I look to the modern person?
Probably crazy.
Is there a purpose to this thread other than to insult religious people?
I'm just pointing out how I would appear, if I had a friend I couldn't prove the existence of. Whatever insult you percieve, I will assure that you are are only insulted by your own misconception. I never outright insulted theists, just made a query, using myself as an example.
ROFLMAO. Pull the other one... it's got bells on it.
You are stirring the pot using a tiresome comparison that has been used a thousand times in this forum alone. If you like you can look around and innocently pretend that your statement isn't intentionally inflamatory if you like but I'm not buying it.
You want to argue. There's nothing wrong with that I guess but don't try to pass it off as some sort of philosophical debate. I'm just asking that you do something a bit more creative... maybe along the lines of "All theists should be slapped with wilted bits of Spinach"
And no... you don't insult me. You bore me.
Thank you for the compliment.
If reason cannot be shown through stupid little examples, such as the one above, then the problem is with the theist. If I'm absolutely wrong, then the problem is mine.
Evidently I'd like to discuss it, otherwise I would not have brought it up.

I started a comment in the "Does God Exist" thread and it led to this:In the forums many people who say they are atheists or non-believers in God say things like:"if you were to compliment a religious person they wouldn't understand" or something like that. These generalized...

Many believers like to say that Atheists should prove that there is no God. Believers should know that existence has to be proved, not the non-existence. If a thing exists, it is possible to prove its existence. So believers should prove the existence of God if he exists. But if they want to do it,...

it's simple, of course they exist, otherwise how else would we so readily know what they are, if they didn't exist we wouldn't know about them to argue of the existence of themalso, if you think of God(s) as the force, that makes things be, then they exist, otherwise, things wouldn't exist
