Does anyone really make money by being an Amazon Affiliate?

Yes. I hope you're not implying that their affiliate program isn't legit. You will get paid by your cumulative efforts in hub writing. When adding your capsules make sure that the products are relevant to it's surrounding content. But don't overdo it. It works; you just have to stay consistent.

No, I am not implying the program isn't legit. I was asking to clarify since I want to join.

Amazon dot com are okay (other than their cookie life)....

But if you are trying to make money out of the wholesale rape of the Amazon rainforest and environment, then clearly you are not greasing the right palms! sad

Affiliate marketing is not my strong suit, but even so I have made a little money here and there from Amazon products on my hubs. I took a look at a few of your hubs, Denism, and they seem to be mostly about financial planning, and one of them references a book you've read. That hub is the perfect vehiicle to sell that very book. On your weight loss hub, you could offer exercise DVDs or weight loss books from Amazon. On my cooking hubs, I offer recipe books, cooking appliances and pots and pans. Most of the Amazon sales that have come from my hubs have been completely unrelated, though. Go ahead and try it and see what happens. With your financial background, you may just be a whiz at it.

No, Amazon is a joke. The only ones making the real money is Amazon. There is a ton of restrictions, (some states the program doesn't even exist) and the competition is fierce.

I suggest promoting a smaller or more unique company.

Yeah! In almost 3 years I've only accumulated about £40 credit from Amazon. Paltry returns. The commission is tiny
