Has anyone tried a water fast? Did you experience any health benefits? How long did it take to feel energetic or good?
A water fast for one day is all I seem to be able to do. I drink water with a slice of lemon all day long. I do this once a week (Monday). It is the only thing that helps me manage my weight. During the rest of the week, I continue to drink a lot of water. This helps me feel less hungry, consequently I eat less, which is a good thing. I usually feel great all day, so long as I drink water all day. By Tuesday, I wake up feeling like I did a really good thing for my body.
MarleneB...Good to know it's possible to get through a day and even one day is a great benefit. I do notice that I feel less hungry when drinking a lot of water. Anything that helps reduce hunger is a good thing. I'm considering trying seven days to see if I feel more energetic.
Don't forget to include electrolytes. Otherwise you could seriously hurt yourself.
I've been losing weight lately because of lack of appetite. I'm totally fine with it. I've even encouraged the behavior to continue by stopping eating the instant I don't feel hungry anymore. I've lost around 15 pounds of pure fat so far.
Did a five day, seven day and 9 day many years ago. Definite difference and cleans the cells of your body and gets the crap out. You will feel clean. One gallon purified water as flush, into which: 32 ounces pure or reconstituted lemon juice as cleaning agent, 32 ounces pure maple syrup
as energy, 1 tsp red pepper as cleaning agent. No set amount to drink, just whenever feel like it. You go for three days, then try to make four then five and so on.
It is better to do a watermelon fast. I am not joking at all. Watermelon has almost all of the vitamins and minerals you need to live on, and you will be as clean as a whistle. You might even pass a urine test, but I wouldn't bet on it. It is a very nutritious fruit. Cherry, peach, tomato or mixed fruit fasts are also beneficial, but I would not go more than three days. There are fruititarians, but I believe they go too far.
Whenever you include man made products into the mix, you are playing with fire.
Water fast? One day.
Who am I? It doesn't matter. Check what I have said with your doctor, or Rajan Jolly (Hubber), He is wiser than I.
PS - I am not Rajan Jolly in disguise.
paradigmsearch..Smart Water has electrolytes so may be an option. It's amazing that only eating when you are hungry had such a dramatic impact. How long did it take you to lose 15 pounds? Congrats on the weight loss!
It's been nice and gradual over approx a 2-month period. Once the miserable hot weather stops, I'll start enjoying eating again.

So, I'm a pretty healthy eater (mostly), and I try to keep full with fiber-rich foods (whole grains, beans, etc), drinking water, and trying to eat lots of veggies, but I feel hungry all the time. I'm also trying to eat smaller meals more often, which I know is good, but sometimes is harder....

Is it unhealthy to only eat one meal a day?I've heard of some very famous people who are devotees of only eating one meal a day. They say that it makes them fit, healthy and energetic. But I am not sure that can be true. Isn't that unhealthy?

Why does exercise make me feel more tired in general? Why does exercise make me feel more tired, during and after exercise and in general, rather than more energetic, fit, "runner's high", etc.?
