This is a very useful site...
http://www.statscrop.com/
It tells you everything from your PR ranking to what is wrong to get better ranking. It's really useful to put all your blogs, sites, etc. through.
It really isn't.
For tools that actually perform the tasks that the "statscrop" site purports to do, try the free tools made by seomoz or play with something like this: (these are not the seomoz tools - you need an account to use those)

Sunforged - I guess we find different things useful.
I didn't find one of the links in the link you gave me useful.
However, if, for instance, you put hubpages into statscrop.com, it tells you that the company is worth $26 million, earns about $8.5 grand a day in ad revenue, has 821,000 visitors per day, has an Alexa rank of 360, where it's based, etc.
For various reasons, I find that kind of stuff useful information. It determines whether I want to write for the company or not.
I also found it useful information that none of my Google blogs are listed by Bing, Yahoo, or DMOZ. I'm not going to do anything about it because I don't really know how to do anything about it, or if, indeed, anything can be done about it. I might consider whether WordPress automatically indexes to other search engines, but I find the way WordPress is set up too confusing so I would rather stick with what is simple. To me, the stress of doing all that just isn't worth it.
While the links you provided gave the conventional SEO, it's not particularly what I'm interested in. I write articles. I don't back link, tweet, or bother much with posting links on other sites. Yes, I do on G+, more because I want to make a point and I don't want to rewrite it, but honestly? I'm a writer - not a marketer. I pretty much feel that I will do the writing and whatever happens, happens. if nobody reads what I write, that's also okay. Above all, I write as an expression of who I am, to teach and to inform, and, hopefully, to make some money (which I am completely and utterly absolutely hopeless at, and always will be because I cannot put dollars ahead of my humanity).
Everything is relative.
What you are missing is that most of the information you appreciate from that "tool" is nonsense.
You used HP - so I will also.
HP is Quantified - so we can see exactly what the real stats are.
http://www.quantcast.com/hubpages.com
Daily figures are more like 550k
Alexa figures are 328/266
Ad revenue is extrapolated by these fake sites (there are hundreds of these) based on traffic - it doesnt work that way when the site has no access to real stats and no access to info about ad revenue sources.
HP is a great example - some of use earn high ad revenue across multiple sources with low traffic, some get great traffic in low earning topics .. some do well with adsense, some with HPads, some ebay, some with third party affs etc. These type of tools are simply meaningless and cant even be used as an estimator. They have zero grounding in reality.
Im not saying that the stats that this tool purports to provide arent useful! Its just that they are never even close to correct. I get why you would use this particular line up of stats its just not a reliable source.
There are hundreds of these type of sites, all of them are nonsense, most scrape the more reliable (but still, iffy) sources like Alexa, make up their own extrapolations and are always woefully out of date.
Good tool!! in theory ... its just that the info is incorrect.
Havent you checked a page you own with the tool and see a huge difference in what it claims and what your own stats and knowledge tell you?
Hi Sunforged,
Well, no, I wouldn't know how to know if something from my pages was correct or not. In terms of my own pages, I just accept whatever is said. If there is a conflict, I just accept that either can be right or wrong because I don't have enough information to determine, and it's too much time to try and find that information. I still continue to write as I have long given up on even remotely earning money on the web as a writer. I think the people who make money on the web are marketers and web people. Writers don't. I've made peace with that.
I also wouldn't be able to tell if figures were exact or not for other sites. Here's what I can tell - whether it's more or less mainstream or not. If it's in the first 1000 websites or so, it's very different to being number 347,092 or something like that. Depending on the topic, if it's in the first 1000 or so, it has a chance of getting to the top page; if it's site number 872,024, I don't think so. Perhaps, I'm wrong, but that's how I see it.
To me, regardless of how individuals earn money on HP, the point is that they do. Many sites claim that writers can earn money but if the site isn't earning any money at all, then it is unlikely that one can earn money as a writer. At least, by knowing that HP has a sizable income from advertising, it means that there is a chance of earning something.
So some of the information is incorrect. I didn't know that. If I could delete the thread, I would. Thank you for your input.
Apparently my main website has been "removed for violations"--whatever that means.
Not sure why, but my laptop security does not want me to go there. I am getting a warning about it.
I checked out some other pages and was not very impressed. Dropping your "SEO score" for things like pictures without titles? Alt text, sure--but titles have nothing to do with it. I was expecting something a bit more substantive like a keyword density measure. Also parts of the site are in broken English.

Sounds like there are lots of changes going on, and it seems that many Hubbers are discouraged. If you were starting from scratch on the site, would you still put in the effort to build your portfolio of hubs here, or would you write primarily for other sites?

I think it was on TBS, I saw a commercial for LoopLane. I went to the site, and it looks like a writing community. Their pitch is "Connecting the content community". They looked pretty new. I was curious because I've never seen a writing site advertize on TV. ...

I often see forum posts about how the site is 'dying', or asking why people would continue writing here after they've earned success on their own websites. So I thought I'd start a thread about WHY people still write here. To start, here are some of my reasons (I haven't written much in the past...
