I read in the Times this week that British police are using anti-terrorism powers to stop and search white people who are not suspected of any crime. The reason they are doing this is because they don't want their statistics to show that they are discriminating against muslims in their investigations terrorism, despite the fact that there is no significant threat in the UK from any kind of terrorism other than Islamic terrorism, which is obviously perpetrated by muslims. I think anyone involved in this should be dismissed for dereliction of duty, but perhaps other people think that racial equality is more important than actual policing. I would be interested to know what hubbers think of this.
It may surprise you but...some Muslims are actually white...
And you wouldn't want the police to consider the fact that terrorism may come from other places? I know there are still problems with Northern Ireland.
Give it some time, you'll get used to this. As well as to other signs of mature socialism
There has to be probable cause to search a vehicle or a person. If they think that someone may be a threat, they have the right to do so. Hopefully this will be done at least polite to keep from causing yet more problems.
No it's not OK. It's a stupid waste of resources. One of the ways Guliani cleaned up New York was by keeping track of crimes. he would then send extra cops to high crime areas. Criminal would then shift to new areas, so the cops followed. If you start looking at things like color, race and creed, well that's a bit racist isn't it? Shouldn't law enforcement be blind to those things? It's someone's actions after all isn't it?
YEah, sux when some Acts take precedence over civil rights n is quite a can of worms...yes, is good..same time...jus skeery
It's not a question of civil rights. When looking for suicide bombers, you look for Muslims. When you're looking for crack dealers, young inner city men. When you're looking for meth sellers, young rural men. What's more effective, giving money to each state to fight methamphetamine labs or do you give more to Missouri, who has the highest number of labs anywhere in the world? You give most of the money to Missouri. Heck when you're looking for illegal immigrants, you'd have the most impact when looking in the Hispanic population. Much as I hate to say it, you'd be right to do so. I tend to ignore the ignorant idiots who think that all Mexicans or descendants of Mexicans are illegals. By thinking that way they've just proven that they aren't to be taken seriously. If they're acting in an official capacity, you report and bury them.
Uh-oh, you are sooooooooooooooooooooo politically incorrect LDT
I prefer the term realist, Misha. Heck I am Hispanic, so at least I'm talking about myself.
LOL I personally don't have any problem with it, PC gone way beyond being useful IMO When we refuse to call white white we just fool ourselves and don't get a tiny bit closer to the solution.

All muslims are not terrorists but all terrorists are muslims. What do you think?I know its bit sesitive issues. However I was thinking why most of the terrorists in the world are muslims? Is it something to do with their faith which is rigid and do not change with time. For example, in my religion...

On 2nd March, 2009, the Srilankan cricket players were proceeding to Gadafi Stadium, Lahore to play cricket with Pakistan. On the way, their vehicle was attacked by unknown terrorists, presumably 12 terrorists. They had a smooth passage in and out of the scene of crime and it seemed no...

But there where 301,797 gun deaths in the same period!!In the 70's and 80's the risk of a terrorist attack was greater then nowadays....

I was checking out this Hub on Whoopi Goldberg and 'The View' and came upon Whoopi and Baver walking out of the show, on the remark of Bill O'Reilly that 'Muslims killed us on 9/11'. I then went looking and found another clip on Utube a talk radio program clip of David Pakman...
