   While I do know a lot about a lot, there is a lot I don't know about a lot too
   
   Alright, so I got this idea, which I'm sure tons of people already do, but I had to reach my own "Ah ha" moment for it I guess....
   
   I started a blog, which is linked to my profile page.  The blog is more of a personal thing where I ramble about my daily life and what not... mind you I just started it like yesterday....
   
   Anyway, so in the blog I thought it would be a good idea to give some of the links to the hubs I write, plus there is a gadget on the side that leads directly to my profile page on HP....
   
   So does this count as "back linking"?
   Does it have the potential to bring me more traffic?
   Good idea, bad idea...
   Tips to get more people to see the blog who aren't on HP & therefor bring them to HP?
   
   help me out here please.

      If you've got 99 hubs you're probably getting quite a few hundred hits a day here on HP. They won't all look at your profile of course, but some will. So there's more chance of HP driving people to your blog than the other way round. Blogs don't usually get a lot of traffic until they have a good number of posts on them. And even then, why is someone going to find your blog? This will only happen if your posts are about something people are looking for. Diary-style blogs don't usually attract many visitors unless the author is already famous and therefore a searchable name in his/her own right.
      
      Example: I have a blog about aspects of life in Qatar and Dubai. I have one joke post called Doha's First Gay Club. (A joke because Qatar is a strict Islamic country. There could never be an established gay club here). But that single post gets more hits than the other 200 put together, because inevitably, at least 5% of Doha's immigrant workforce must be gay and will be checking out the scene  before they arrive here.
      
      So, yes, your blog and hubs can feed each other, but only if both are searchable in their own right. Hope that was of some help?

      Yes it is considered backlinking if you place links on your blog posts that point to your hubs.  It's a start anyway... only a couple of your links that you put in your blog posts will actually be counted.  Build up some traffic on your personal blog and you can attract traffic to your hubs. 
      If you need a better understanding of backlinks you can check out my "Guide to backlinks..." hub it shows you what code to use on different types of sites and offers you ideas on how to find more relevant links.   
      
      Try linking a few of your social networks together:  Hubpages to you FB and G+, Twitter, and Pinterest... Place a link on your Twitter and G+ to your Blog and link your Blog to Hubpages, FB, G+, and Twitter...  When you make a post on your blog you can place a link in the post that points to a relevant hub, then notify your social networks about your blog post and also about your relevant hub, and Pin a picture from both you blog post and your hub then Tweet the Pin. 
      
      Yes it is a lot of work but it can pay off in the end...

         Thank you.  I do post some of my hubs on my FB account, but not all.  Just the ones I think my friends & family might be interested in.

            You might want to consider creating a Branded Facebook Page that is solely dedicated to promoting your writing... more is explained in this forum post:  http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/104364
            
            This allows you to do as much promoting as you want on your hubs without ticking off your personal friends and family by filling up their feeds.  If you create one, you can use that page to to link to your Hubpages profile.  Your HP profile gives you 6 opportunities to link to other places, FB, Twitter, G+, Pinterest, Linkdn, and a personal website or blog.  Take advantage of all these opportunities as well as grow your followers and reputation on those social networks you link to.
