Why is my hub considered "overly promotional"?

   I've just noticed that my hub,
   “Domestic strife in the White House. Why Barack Obama is looking tired”, has been unpublished by a moderator and classed as “overly promotional”. I will edit it in order to comply with the requirements, but I am puzzled as to why it has been unapproved. It is wholly original material and contains no eBay or Amazon capsules. It doesn't link to a page that contains anything, let alone material that is similar in content. It doesn't link more than twice to any single domain and there is no RSS feed.
   It isn't a short teaser, nor does it advise the reader to “read more”or”continue”. It's wholly complete, with a beginning and an end.
   What it does however is contain links to the Amazon pages where people can buy my latest e-book,
   “The Zombie, the Cat and Barack Obama” and there is a picture of the cover, fronting the article. I am including the cover picture here.
   Is that what the problem is? I'm rather shocked that HubPages won't allow its hard pressed writers to advertise their own books. Or have I just been singled out?
   An official answer would be appreciated.

      I added some bold.  In regards to the 1st bold statement, that's not true.  It links to somewhere that is intended to earn money for you.

      Based on my experience and observations, your Hub got flagged because you are using it to solely promote a singular product for personal gain, especially as you deliberately side-stepped using an Amazon capsule and cut HubPages out of their retail percent. 
      
      From the very beginning, Hubs meant to bring sole benefit to the author, Hubs meant to act as landing page just get backlinks are exactly the sort of thing that gets shut down.

      HP is not a personal  free  advertising source. Take all references to your book out and it will probably be accepted.
      You've also used this forum to further promote your book which is also against TOS.
      Any writer who attempts to promote their own products or website will be flagged.

   This is in no way an official answer as I'm not HP staff. But I'm just wondering, if you're unsure as to why it's been flagged overly promotional, how will you know how to edit the hub to meet the necessary requirements?

   I did not buy your ebook, sorry to say. I read your hub, happy to say. I was interested in your hub and said so. I did not feel that anything was being promoted. With that said: Any good system that uses a censorship or restriction of priviledge in their publication, editing, must and I mean Must be responsible and give you somekind of notice saying why they took action that was detrimental to you. Notice is a lynchpin of all fairness. I hope HP develops some good policy in this regard. It is some of what I do for a living and it is very beneficial to all parties.

   Unless the book is on the same topic as the hub, i can see that being the reason.

   I'm new to HubPages, but yesterday I thought I was doing a good job of using additional links, however I received a note at the top of the hub saying it was overly promotional. If you were able to see that, which by the way is hi-lighted, you could click on it, and it should give you a listing of all the offending links (and why). In my case I had linked affiliate links, even though they were given to me by
   the link tab area. I ultimately broke the offending links, and provided my own information, which was not affiliate. I hope that helps you, by the way your book looks interesting, good luck with your writing!

      Along with thanking Christopher I thank you. I am not satisfied with the why explanation in those notes --- way to generic. focusing on links might be a good insight. I will start loading them up and see the sanctions in order to understand the appropriate.
