My Google Search Ranking is Worsening...?

   A couple weeks ago I checked my Google search ranking for several of my hubs, and found them on the 4th or 5th page of the search (not great, but not horrible for a newbie). This week it seems they have dropped off the face of the earth. Is this a common occurrence for people who are just establishing their web presence (and something that will recover in time), or should I be concerned that I need to change something?
   
   I had one hub that was getting a lot of traffic through Pinterest a couple weeks back, and has now dropped back down to my normal amount of views. I am wondering if this is at all related. Would the relatively high number of views have boosted my placement on Google, and now dropped me back down since falling?

      I'm experiencing a drop in traffic this week as well, and I believe I have seen others mentioning the drop in other forum posts. While the drop isn't a complete drop, it is about half of my traffic... It could just be one of the normal fluctuations in traffic we see around here.

      Hi Faith I am not as computer savvy as a lot of people here on HP, but I read in one of the forums that you must clean your "cache" so that Google does not put your Hubs up high when searching from your own computer.
      In other words, the high rating you had noticed may have been artificial. Were you getting several hundred page views from Google each day? If not, Google may have only been showing that high placement to you, on your own computer.
      I would ask Paradigmsearch, Simey, or Marisa Wright about this issue as they could give you more help.

   I think it has to do a lot with the Social Aspects... that is Google Search Rankings are looking for sites that has a lot of participation from social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Google+ as well as comments on sites. I have seen how a few of my blog posts got shoot up to the first two pages of search ranking page after receiving a few LIKEs & +1s.
   
   This is something to consider this year if you are looking to rank on Google.

      Thanks for the input, affilicore! Makes sense. I have so far had the best luck with Pinterest and Facebook, but I am working toward establishing greater Twitter and Google+ promotion.

   If you find out more, please let me know. The problems are similar to those reported by others. I personally think it's because my carefully constructed tags were wiped out.

   affilicore is totally right, pushing anything via the most common social networks is very important. Google + is a big deal to google obviously but one things ANYONE who writes article or hubs needs to establish google authorship. Just google it and it will walk you through it setting it up. Showing you're writing quality articles is very important. But just share  on the social sites without being spammy, set up Authorship, and make sure your content is well written with a good variety of your target keywords.

      Thanks for the input, aachristmas. It makes sense that social network promotion is important since that is such a huge part of business now. I will look into Google authorship.
