When I click "save unpublished" on a hub I'm working on, the address looks exactly like the address of one of my published hubs. There isn't a "no index" tag that I can see. So wouldn't google find these unpublished hubs? It worries me because sometimes all I have is a title to use later. If google finds these unpublished works in progress, it could rank down my subdomain or condemn the article to a future of poor search rankings. I know the answer is probably no, but it's too important for there to be any doubt.
Solid answer = Google may be aware of the Hubs, but it knows to not pay attention to them.
Additional point: the same goes with Hubs that are not Featured. Google may still crawl them and know they're there, but because they have noindex tags, Google will not count them as being a part of your reputation.
Hope that helps!
Thanks, that helps. I'm curious as to how google knows not to pay attention to them. There doesn't appear to be anything on the page. Does hubpages put something invisible on the page, or maybe sets up some kind of redirect or 404... or whatever those codes are?
I have wondered this also. I have tried to do a search on the key terms and it appears that the words are there for the search just not for the reader. If this is so, I perhaps need to clean up my unpublished hubs.
Looking forward to a solid answer.
Thank you for this posting.
when Google update Google panda, it gives better search result then previous, so any one gives the data on the web which is "published" or "unpublished" Google can find it.

http://blog.hubpages.com/2013/04/five-f … b-barrier/The new blog post that just went up today really caught my eye. The crux: "Until you have published five simultaneously-Featured Hubs, new Hubs that do not pass the Quality Assessment Process (QAP) will be unpublished rather...

Sometimes when I have ideas for hubs, I "start a hub" and sometimes finish it later or just let it sit there for a while. Maybe I should just write down my hub ideas instead. Does it hurt my hub scores or overall hubber score to have those unfinished hubs (often with just titles) sitting...

I'm not necessarily in the 30 in 30 this month, but I'm desperately trying to empty my que. I now have 52 unfinished hubs, and I've completed 8 so far this month. We'll see if I can get at least half of those 52 gone by the last day in February.Which, means I'll end up publishing at least 30...

I know that our own views are counted on the stats page but I have not opened this hub to edit it today and yet I can see that I have had four visits!

Read here that when one hubber did this, traffic improved. I thought the formerly called 'sleeping' hubs, now those not 'featured', would be pulled off Google, anyways. So I'm curious that when someone unpublished their 'sleeping' hubs that this improved traffic. Has anyone else found that doing...
