The way I see it, all of the books that I read do. No matter the type. Learn more, think more, become a more educated well rounded person.
Bhagwat Gita
"The Book Of Mirdad" Mikhael Naimy,
The Glass Bead Game-Hermann Hesse,
Patanjalis Yoga Sutras,
The Alchemist - Paulo Coehlo
Kural- Tiruvalluvar
I use to read Grisham's book way back when I was a bit frustrated in proceeding to Law school but eventually I changed my mind and now weddings inspire me. Funny though... my interests are far way related..
History (non-fiction). Like about great civilizations and how certain individuals shaped the course of history.
I learned Latin form Caesar's Gallic Wars. This is the one that's standing out in my mind tonight, for some reason.
Tony Robbins Awaken The Giant Within and seriously about 100 other books I read on Health Wealth and happiness!
Richard Bach - Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
I read half of it right near the shelf until the shop was about to close.
I'd have to agree with Richard Bach, but more recently (the late) Robert Jordan's fantasy series, The Wheel of Time. I read all 11 volumes (don't count the prequel), then start over.
Christian in complete armor! I dont normally read Christian books aside from my text books and apologetics stuff but man...every Christian needs to read this fo show!
Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" and "The Fountainhead"
The Fountainhead is all about a guy who can not be bought, at any price, no matter what.
Atlas Shrugged has seen a recent resurgence of interest lately, (probably due to the political times we live in), and is a fictional experiment testing her Objectivist theories. It's a long read and can seem a bit winded in places, but the ideas presented make muddling through it well worth the effort.
While I don't agree with Rand's personal beliefs, these books are amazing.
Well I am doing Torah studies now, and it is very inspiring and eye opening...How little Christians know about Christianity is amazing.
Also, my all time favorite book hands down is "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexander Dumas. Its genius and mastermind way. Boys would love this book...it is about revenge and pirates and treasure and love...its fantastic...also 1,000 pages long

(Traditions of Prophet Muhammad and his companions (peace be upon them all)
Sorry that's a magazine- Judges what do you think should we allow that answer??? LOL
of course haha kmackey32 how does it inspire you?
Bible. Stories about Elijah. How the guy just calls down fire from heaven anytime he feels like gets me everytime. If I was a prophet I would be like that dude. No kidding.
I like reading memoirs, usually there is tragedy and a lot of life lessons. It can definitely show you how to be a better person when you feel you've been let in to someone else's life. I just read The Glass Castle, it taught me that while your personal happiness is important once you have children there is nothing else more important than their happiness.

I'm not entirely convinced that a book is really capable of changing your life, because to do that you...

Why do atheists tell Christians they should read history books/resources?Why are Christians told that we should read history, and specifically which history, in order to be responsible Christians?
