I just wanted to scream and throw this computer out the window. I tried just a simple procedure that turned into a nightmare..... technology is supposed to make life asier when it works that is? Any other frustrated computer users out there?

Yep,  I run into computer problems all the time.    Right now,  my speakers don't work and I have no idea why.    All the places I've gone to try to correct the problem haven't given me user-friendly solutions.  I followed the steps to "put volume control icon on desktop" and etc. and etc.,  and it put it there but it still didn't WORK, so that was useless.   So....I totally understand anyone's frustration with these things we call computers,  'cause they're certainly not user-friendly for THIS user!  haha.

Brenda, you've probably already done this; but just in case....

Have you made sure that the USB port they're plugged into is matched up correctly in your audio device settings?  If you haven't done that you could come back here and someone on here might be able to assist.

          Thanks for the tip,  Lisa!
I'll try it,  or get my husband to check it as soon as he has time..........
I'm having patience and haven't tossed the computer out the window yet!!  haha.

Thank you Brenda for understanding and bravo to you for having patience. The particular computer I was using was at the library of all places. They ended up having to shut it down and deem it out of order. It was just so frustrating to be right in the middle of something and have given all my info. etc... and then stopped working.... I just wanted to scream.

No.   I love my computer.   I did have a cell phone, however, that is lucky it didn't find itself outside on the front lawn; and a certain travel-mug I know, and that has a very tricky cover on it, had better watch its step.

This would show there are some good computers out there and some bad ones. Usually, it's a matter of getting what you paid for.

Other times, it could be viruses that were unwittingly downloaded.

No actually...I love my computers and never have any problems with them that I can't easily resolve.

A lot of the problems with computers are related to outdated operating systems and cheap hardware; slow processors; slow network interface cards; lack of maintenance including things like defragmenting the hard-drive, disk clean-ups, clearing search histories, cookies, etc.
