How does the concept of DARKNESS affect YOU?  Do YOU embrace the darkness as a friend and/or companion?  Are YOU afraid of the darkness and what it represents subconsciously and/or unconsciously?  Do YOU view the darkness as THE OTHER, something evil?  Do YOU entirely avoid the subject of darkness as something to be avoided and why?   What is YOUR reaction regarding the concept of DARKNESS?

I find the darkness of the night comforting - the stillness and the quietness. This, of course, is not the same as total darkness or the concept of darkness. We may be inherently afraid of darkness because we cannot see what is out there; it is the unknown. We could bump into something; fall into something, or get eaten by something. Light is positive; with seeing comes knowing and trusting. I tend to see the concept of light in this positive manner, but I still do not feel that the concept of darkness is evil in any way; it is just the absence of light. It is what it is. Have a bright day!

If this were not posted as a religious forum I might comment. But it is.

Comment any way, Kathryn.  Do not let the negativity of others deter you.  Please respond.  What is your opinion of DARKNESS?  Positive or negative?  Why?

-what a temptress! OK, gm, Here goes:
I like darkness. I have been dealing with a concussion. I have to have it dark at night in my room to have a sound sleep.  Actually, what really helps is going outside to sleep in my yard and being enveloped in the coolness of night and the dark (starry) sky. But, it is irritating to have those street lights shining in from the street. And those automatic lights that glare from my neighbors houses.  A contractor wanted to install one of them for free on my house. I said, no way.
Anyway, I think its good for the nervous system to have periods of darkness. I even had to crawl into a crawl space in my attic to have calmness and peace during the fourth month of this stupid concussion. I've heard thats when the symptoms are the worst: referred to as post concussion syndrome. Things have definitely settled down in my brain, but I can't handle becoming agitated or stressed, or I get weird symptoms in my nervous system. I have to stay calm, therefore I am not posting anything controversial here! LOL.
I do like looking up and contemplating the light of the stars, however. oops.

now you are just being irritating, I mean artistic.
                - all things in their proper time and place. I believe in moderation and balance.
You, gm, can have all the darkness you want. Have at it.  Close your eyes shut and keep 'em that way for the rest of your life and beyond, if you want. Why did you post this... is what I want to know.
But you won't answer this... you won't admit it.
(and yes, that was tit for tat.)
                PS I like Lightness too...
                and More than Darkness!
So I am a Light Lover. Are we at odds now? can you accept me still?
Actually, we are a couple of crazy ladies.
And thats all one needs to know.

No, we ARE NEVER at odds.  Lightness needs darkness to exist and vice versa.  All exists within synchroncity of each other.
