   The Affordable Care Act which is known as Obamacare will be IN effect in 2014.  There are some who applaud this act as a total revolution in health care.  They see Obamacare as an essential part of a civilized society.  They believe that America should have socialized health care like many industrialized nations already have 
   
   Others see the downside of Obamacare.  They view Obamacare as being highly intrusive  as far as health care goes.  They view the fact the ALL must be in this health care plan as coercive and totalitarian.  They also maintain that the penalty for not enrolling in this program will be deleterious for many.   Let's discuss this phenomena called Obamacare!

      It is idealistic and utopian and it is not do-able. It would be nice if it worked...it won't. It is another step toward the US becoming a social democracy. Another engineered step.
      and not by us.
      - not by the American people.
      Take away the insurance option and presto: things back to normal!
      Pay up front for services rendered.
      
      1. We need to be given a direct vote on whether we want it or not.
      2. We need to know what we are voting for.
      3. Provide us a copy of the Bill. (or at least an accurate synopsis.)
      
      We should have demanded this a long time ago.
      - too late now and school of hard knocks now.
      
      what is your opinion, gmwilliams? That picture is a little extreme...

   Who says a Law can't be changed?
   Obama?
   Just because he tweeted that it's a Law and we "can't stop it"?
   Just because so-called News people and commentators say it's a lost cause to fight it?
   Just because most of the Democrat Congresspeople say it's unstoppable?
   
   How do you think people have gotten their rights all this time?
   How do you think blacks got their full rights?
   By protesting "Laws" that were wrong.
   
   When Obama created the motto "Yes We Can",  what he really meant was that HE could.   And indeed he can if people continue to listen to him.

      Because the liberal Abolitionist Christians of the North fought back against the conservative slave-owning Christians of the South (seems like everyone was a Christian back then)? And have continued to fight for said rights up until today?
      
      And even then, the Religious Right still tries their damnedest to get them out of their hair, what with their proposed voter fraud regulation of 2011 and the recent story about a North Carolina church that wanted only white greeters, as well as the current Republicans' inability to generate public service jobs in largely-black communities (while they don't have any problems doing so in white communities!) being just a few examples from recent history.
      
      And even now, the fact that conservatives are frothing at the mouth in order to ensure that poor people never receive health insurance and simply die in the streets is very telling. Considering a great number of minorities do fall under the poverty line, it's hard not to say that it's racially-driven--that is, until you realize that, while black and Hispanic people have a greater proportion of their populations in the red, white people still make up the bulk of those living in poverty, so (for once in their entire existence) now we can say conservatives aren't totally racist after all! They simply want ALL poor people to die, regardless of the color of their skin! Happy day!

         Zelkiiro, I have no problem helping the poor who are willing to help themselves.  Problem is, it seems like so many people these days feel that they are entitled to assistance.  This country is inching ever closer to socialism where it is a crime to do well and you should be taxed or penalized for working hard.  I have family who are prime examples of this.  They do not work and they live completely on their benefits.  There is nothing wrong with them except that they do not want to work.  They can go load up furniture but you can't ask them to support themselves.  If there check is even one day late there will be hell to pay (usually because they have already spent it and not to pay their bills).

   Brenda, what about a direct vote... can we call for a special election given to the citizens to decide what they want... based on seeing the bill?  Oh, it is too big a bill for it to be sent out . WHAT? So, we say "Oh Okay!
