I got approved for Mturk, but Amazon payments can't confirm my identity. Even though I gave them information, they still have restricted my account
"This functionality has been disabled on your account. We have failed in verifying the information submitted by you. Click here to find out more about these restrictions."
Same thing happened with PayPal in 2012 and it happened in 2010 when getting books at a community college (social security issue or something).
I was able to lift restrictions on PayPal because I sent them picture id and stuff. But how can I fix this with Amazon!?
And in 2012 I went to social security and they said nothing is wrong! They are full of crap! There definitely is something wrong with my identity!
Order a copy of your credit report. In the U.S., I think you are entitled to one free copy per year.
I don't think I actually have a credit score because I did not use loans for the classes I took, it was financial aid. And I use a debit card -- have never applied for a credit card.Plus any money I have made has been from freelancing... My bank account is in my name, however.
All the more reason you need to order a credit report. It will show things like your address, employment, etc. If you have 'identity' problems, you can probably find the reason on your credit report. Often, people with the same name can have their information appear on your report. You need to see what is on there so you can fix incorrect information.
How can I prove to Amazon who I am, though? Even I get a credit report, Amazon has restricted my account...
I won't be able to buy anything, take money out, or anything. How unfortunate because I wanted to take article rating tests soon. But even if I do get paid I won't be able to withdraw anything.
I was able to send PayPal photo ID etc and they took the lift off my account so I could deposit, withdraw money etc...Would I be able to do a similar thing with Amazon?
There is something about your identity verification that is causing problems. If you don't find out what that is, you're going to have problems all your life with that (buying a car, getting a job, etc.). Are you at least 18 years old? Do you have a criminal record? Order your free credit report, fix inaccurate information and then ask Amazon to reconsider.
You should probably be asking Amazon what your options are in this situation.
You can call Amazon at: 1-206-266-1000
Or send an email to: verification@amazon.com
The phone is supposed to work better than getting the run around by emails. It could be that you have not lived at your address for one year, so have your previous addresses handy when you call. Good luck!
It looks like this person had a similar issue.

Apparently, you can send Amazon Photo ID. However, unlike PayPal, I do not see options about this. I am not as familiar with Amazon Payments interface.

I passed the qualification test for rating hubs (obtained a 92% score and received the $5 bonus), but when I returned to Mechanical Turk to actually rate hubs, the HIT states I am not qualified. I am posting a screenshot of the page. The qualification requires a score of "30" and I have a...

My husband and I are looking to buy a house in the upcoming year. We have run into some trouble looking for a lender because our credit is, for lack of a better term, crap! I am looking for ideas on how to raise our scores. We pay our bills on time, so that isn't the...

Why is mturk showing as a traffic source to one of my popular hubs?I have never seen mturk (Amazon's Mechanical Turk) show up as a traffic source for a hub previously and this particular hub has several visits yesterday from there. Wondering why that might be? Seems strange. It wasn't...
