EC status has no effect on Copyright Protection

   Google has always been good at deleting plagiarized content that was posted on blogspot.com, which is hosted by Google.
   
   But now I have a problem...
   
   When a hub is chosen for Editor's Choice the URL is changed since it's moved to HubPages' top domain. 
   
   One of my EC hubs was stolen and posted in blogspot. HubPages flagged this hub, and I filed a DMCA report on 11/3/13 via Google's online DMCA form. But this time nothing was done. 
   
   Maybe it's just taking longer now. But in previous experiences with non EC hubs, the complaint resulted in a quick take-down of the copy within 24 hours.
   
   Now it's been 10 days. The copy is still online and I've received no notice from Google. They say they may email me but nothing came back.
   
   This is a big concern for me now -- with Editor's Choice hubs. I'm afraid I may be losing my proof of ownership since Google may see the EC version as a new hub that was created after the plagiarized copy.
   
   I resubmitted a new DMCA report on 11/6/13 with an additional explanation stating that HubPages changed the URL and has a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new one.
   
   Now it's been another week and still no response from Google. 
   
   I think I need help from the HP team to intervene in case Editor's Choice is going to make it easy for people to steal and get away with it.

   The domain or URL is inconsequential for DMCA complaints.  So, there is no reason EC status should impact your complaint.  If you post the details, I'll reach out to our Google rep to see why there is a delay.

      Paul, Not sure if I may post the URL here. But you can see it in my account. It's the one with over 300 views a day and it's tagged as copied, showing the plagiarized URL. It's  all there in my account. I appreciate your help with reaching out to your Google rep. Google is ignoring me on this one for some reason. They always deleted the copies in a day or two in the past. The Editor's Choice URL change is the only thing I can think of as being the problem.

      Then I selected "I have a legal issue that is not mentioned above"
      
      Then I selected "I have around content that may violate my copyright"

   Okay Paul. I just resubmitted my complaint via this new link.  I wonder why the other one didn't go through. This form is not specific for blogspot complaints. The other is. I have a feeling all this does is get it removed from the SERP index. The other gets it deleted from blogspot.  We'll see how it goes.

      My last DMCA complaint to Google took about a week to be acted on. That was for a page copied to blogspot and I submitted the DMCA about ten days ago.  The was page removed from the site.
      
      Anyway it took far longer than usual. Maybe you just need some patience.
      
      Also maybe you forgot to check a box ('I attest that this is true' type of thing).

         Will, Paul discovered that my first two reports never got into the database. I did not miss any checkboxes as I have used this form dozens of times in the past with success each time. So I'm very clear on how it's used. I got that one checked for sure.
         
         But as you can see in the thread of  posts above, Paul gave me a different DMCA form. Not the one for complaints about copies in blogspot, but a general DMCA for copyright infringement.  I filled it out and I see my complaint is now in Google's database as pending. 
         
         As for having patience, I got used to Google deleting stolen hubs in less than 48 hours in the past. So I guess I got spoiled by that past experience. Something is different now.

      Yay!!! Google deleted the plagiarized copy in less than 18 hours. Thanks, Paul, for guiding me in the right direction. And you too Robin for chiming in.
      
      I'm going to use that other DMCA form from now on, rather than the one that used to work specifically for blogger/blogspot. 
      
      I'm also glad to see it had nothing to do with Editor's Choice since more than 1/3rd of my hubs are EC.

   I reported a few blogs and a hub that had been copied last week, and Google is still working on it.  I think the longest they ever took to get back to me was a month, but the waiting is what is not fun.
