I could not find words to describe this shameful quote without being banned. Perhaps, you can. I am forced to bite my tongue.
"I would rather die young than live a life of suffering. I would rather my child die young than suffer. Those precious children are with God now. Praise be to God"
I liked this one better.
Let's all thank God for dead children now.
Yes, that is an awful thing to say.
I finally agree with you on something.
In the hour of your birth, i guess you mom was having a lovely chat over cake and ice-cream with the mid wife.
I guess that supple calf frolicked and gamboled to the butchers stall and offered its best side so that you can have your juicy steak for dinner.
I guess the cockroaches and mice are inviting their third cousin cousins from a far far away land to experience the blissful tranquil existence they have been enjoying in your kitchen.from time immemorial.
I guess the family planning meetings with your parents and grand parent with their parents and grand parents, is usually very productive and you chart the way forward for the next hundred generations.
It stand to reason that believers should indeed discard their psychotic, paranoid, irrational and toxic idea of this invisible super sky daddy, who beams lovingly down upon them waiting to snatch out of the slightest harm or loss , while mercilessly scourges all who errs in the slightest in their duty of worship.
These should man up and face reality.
Sorry, no cake and ice cream, and no mid wife. Have you actually ever witnessed childbirth?
Perhaps, the calf has no idea it is on it's way to being slaughtered, so it may very well have frolicked and gamboled.
I have no cockroaches or mice, they were invited to someone else' house.
No, we just plan for our own children and they plan for theirs. That's usually how it works.
Agreed.
I didn't invite the mice, but I am impressed with the perfection of the mouse trap. Mice are amazing little things. Their comrade lays their with it brains all over the place and it feasts on the peanut butter his dead comrade was attempting to steal. 4 to date.
Doesn't surprise me at all. I was just reading an old forum where Cgenaea stated that God used African slaves to make America a strong nation.
Morally Repugnant?

" Yes I am proud of my daughter"
The mother of an 11 year old daughter who is 8 months pregnant (UK press)
It might sound horrible but is there any better way to reconcile why a loving God made a world with such a capacity of evil? If God is good, then this evil must be occurring for a good reason or He would have made a world incapable of it.
In my worldview, God is everything. The Universe and everything in it. Having experience through separation.
God to me isn't a savior or comforter. He's having the experience as you, me, and the starving child.
What do you think about people who survive a catastrophic event, are standing in the rubble, surrounded by death and say they are blessed by God or were saved because God has a plan for them? Does that strike you as narcissistic, given that hundreds of people just died? What are they saying about the people who didn't make it?
I read of an exact example of that, where some middle aged woman was pulled from the rubble after a few days of being buried, she exclaimed as she was pulled out by the rescuers, "Jesus saved me!" as the dead bodies around here continued to be pulled from that rubble.

An atheist at a presentation given by the philosopher William Lane Craig asked why, if the holocaust was morally abhorrent, is the flood not even more so? Hitler never favored the near extinction of the human race. The flood, if true, would have wiped out most of the population of the...

I plan to write a hub about this, because more and more, I see this defense as ridiculously weak, especially for the conservatives who believe in an afterlife.I'm only going to contest one point here: That people are allowed to do evil things because God doesn't want to interfere with their free...

Am I morally obligated to reproduce? Are you morally obligated to produce offspring just because your ancestors have done so since the beginning of life on Earth? Evolutionarily speaking, the only reason you were created was to perpetuate the genes passed down to you throughout the eons. Ceasing...
