The same person has twice commented on my hubs leaving a link for a related product, I think; I have not clicked on the links. She joined 8 months ago, but has no hubs, followers or following. Her only activity is commenting and posting links. I'm surprised she is still here.
I would report her. Seems she is here only to advertise or scam.
I got this problem on my other website where I post comments to news items. One person used to contact me through gmail id stating he has posted a comment on my website and he used to give a link to his website every time. When I tried to see the comments posted by him on my site, I did not find any comment. After watching it for 3 times, I reported it as spam and now I do not get any mail from him.
We suggest setting your Hubs such that each comment must be approved and so that only logged in users can comment.
If you believe that the comments are SPAM, please continue to mark them as such. This data helps our system better identify spammy account and IPs.
You can also report the user via their profile if you believe that their account should be reviewed. Every such report is reviewed by a moderator.
I hope the settings are already there in the hubpages. Regarding other sites, they should set the settings in the layout.
Psyche is right - deny the comments on the basis of being spam. Enough of them and HP will pick it up and delete the account.
Yes, I denied the comments both times and clicked the spam button. I'm assuming they will pick it up at some point; just surprised it hasn't happened yet.
You keep on reporting spam. They will definitely respond.
I had one person stalking me before they found my hub pages, then she joined hub pages and signed up under my amazon user name. I reported her as a stalker and they immediately banned her from hub pages. She has caused enough strife in my writing then any one person could imagine.
I had the same thing happen on here not too long ago. There were 3 posts in a row in the comment section of one of my Hubs with just links. I denied them and reported as spam.
Well done. There should be some mechanism to suspend such accounts immediately on repeating the same offence more than two times.
Maybe she's promoting the link and by pasting it everywhere she can she hopes someone would eventually clicked it and earn her money.
I would not approved such comments under my articles.

It is important to actually read the hub you are commenting on. It seems that every time I publish a hub I get at least one comment saying something that proves they didn't read the hub. In the future I will be deleting these comments even though they are well intentioned. It will better for your...

PROBLEM: Whenever I write a hub on a controversial subject, a number of people create new, fake hub accounts solely for the purpose of posting negative comments and feedback on my hubs and/or threatening me anonymously. These new hubbers have 0 (zero) hubs and no other activity, and they are never...

There seems to be someone posting a Spam Link on hubs. I have reported it from my hub. I am wondering if others are getting this person on their hubs also? What this person does is "Copy" a section of Your comments and "paste" them in the comment box. The Name listed by the...

Why is it that some writers do not respond to individual comments on their hubs?I noticed this with some writers who have been on HP for two years or more. They will choose to respond directly to some comments and ignore the others. Doesn't it make you feel like not commenting on these writers...

Anyone else getting a lot of this lately? This week alone I've had three different newbies leave comments on several of my hubs with links back to their own hubs - so annoying!I'm all for supporting and helping new hubebrs, but not at the expense of my own traffic. This hasn't happened...

Do you find that leaving comments and replying to them increases your stats, or does it take you away (time wise) from writing hubs?
