Yours truly has perpetrated 6 extremely productive days in a row. Today is a well deserved, major slacker day for me. There may even be vodka involved.

The carnage I've seen in these forums the last several days has been unbelievable. This is the Happy Thread. One should only post happy thoughts here. Let the games begin. I'll start.

There are no evil people after me, either online or offline. That's another way of saying I'm currently not being subjected to any unethical bills, e.g., medical, cable, legal, or any of the other usual extortionist endeavours. Life being life, I know this is something to be truly grateful for.

Where I live, I am surrounded by nothing but good neighbors. Where I shop, all the folks like me. And as for HubPages, I've never seen so many nice people in one place in my life; that alone is truly amazing. HubPages truly is one of the islands of sanctuary in a less than stellar civilization.

I truly do have a nice life. And I am intelligent enough and experienced enough to fully realize that. Consider this post a thank you to whoever the powers may be in this universe.

I noticed I used the word "truly" 5 times. I am fine with that.

So, anybody else out there have any happy thoughts?

I would defiantly agree that the word vodka should enter the English language as a superlative. ie. PDS has been vodka when it comes to productivity! Lol!

I'm also really, really pleased that you have no unethical creditors chasing you. Brilliant!

I like my neighbours a lot too. And there's a camera in your very near future (Mystic Meg, 2014)

I wouldn't defiantly agree, btw, but I'd definitely agree smile

        Oh, my!

Having assured food and shelter really is a big deal in this day and age; for that matter, always has been. Once one has that foundation, striving for more is definitely achievable. I've had no less than 3 viral hubs here; enthusiastic about the 4th. The eternal search for that magic topic continues.

HollieTposted 10 years agoin reply to this

Assured food and shelter is taken for granted by so many, it's only when you're close to losing both that you can fully appreciate what life is like for people who have neither.

And just to add, because I often forget that you are on the other side of the pond, Mystic Meg was/is? an astrologer who wrote a column for one of the UK's trashy tabloids.

There's an iconic image of MM sitting in front of a crystal ball and a black cat is always in the picture. I discovered that she used to earn almost a quarter of million pounds a year, a couple of weeks ago. Wow! Eye watering sums.

I have 12 astrology hubs that make money here every day. I shall not comment on whether I believe in astrology or not. Maybe I should start hawking those more.

Yes it is spring (kind of sort of) and I am always happy to be alive even on the days when my back is killing me or my child is screaming. It is also almost the weekend for me and tonight i will partake in a couple (or more) night caps and that equals happy for me (as long as I don't get carried away) and lastly I am happy I found HubPages a few years ago. Even though I don't earn much on this site I still think it is a good place to write.

    Happy happy joy joy.

I make payout on this site every month. I know how lucky I am and it is definitely something I do not take for granted.

I just planted my patio garden last week, and seedings from all nine of my plantings just popped out yesterday--- eager to greet the world and eventually appear on a summer salad.  That's a pretty positive metaphor, huh?

We had a pretty heavy rain today-- and we are in a drought, so I am starting to think about my unplanted garden.

God's in His Heaven.  All's right with the world.  Feeling pretty blessed today myself.  Spring has finally come to Georgia.  My iris are blooming better than they have in 3 years.  (All that hard work in July paid off.)  It's my husband's birthday and my adult boys are coming for Mom's lasagna, but one of them has a new girlfriend who is of Italian heritage from upstate NY.  Do I dare make lasagna for her?  Advice!

Go for it. And solicit advice as to the next one. You will then become the lasagne queen. big_smile

      Midnight Scribblings…

Submitted by TheResearcher on April 23rd, 2014 –

The owl fell out of the tree as the cat walked by; the ensuing result was not pretty. The tombstones glimmered in the cemetery; the phosphorus leached from the ground was finally making itself known. No moon this night; the stars were bright.

The distant train whistle foretold of things to come. The tracks began to vibrate as the train drew closer. The tombstones dimmed one-by-one as the train rounded the last bend, its light coming into view. The cat continued munching his newfound, midnight snack.

The train drew to a stop. The conductor emerged.

“Is this the way to Silverado?” asked the conductor.

“Twenty more miles,” said the cat.

“Thanks,” said the conductor. He returned to his train.

The train departed. The cat burped. All was as it should be.

    Darwins Planet

Submitted by TheResearcher on April 18th, 2014 –
    Category: Ideology

“What planet is this?” said the pilot.

“Darwin’s Planet,” said the navigator looking at the galactic catalog.

    “Who was Darwin?”

    “Don’t know. Don’t care.”

    The two-occupant ship lands...

Right in the middle of a city. Needless to say, a crowd gathers. Strange looking creatures they were.

The pilot and navigator step out. “Who is Darwin?” they ask the nearest bystander as a lark.

“An advocate,” says the bystander, “ of ‘adapt or die’.”

“Adapt or die?” say the pilot and navigator.

“Yes,” said the bystander, shooting both the pilot and navigator.

The pilot and navigator lay dying. “This is why you call it ‘Darwin’s Planet’?”

“Darwin’s Planet?” said the bystander. “No. We call it ‘Earth’.”
