HubPages Age Group

I was wondering what age group of writers/readers in HubPages is the most dense. I'm asking out of curiosity but also knowing this kind of information might help out all hubbers in creating articles to target that age group for more traffic, etc. If there isn't a statistical data available, a discussion might give us an idea of what that age group might be.

If you are  trying to boost income, you are not targeting other hubbers. I can't see that targeting a particular age group within HP would be particularly helpful.
You really want to attract traffic from search engines. There may be certain age groups who statistically do more Google searches, but there can be plenty of traffic from almost all ages from teens through seniors.
(I've also seen people who are "more dense" in all age categories smile )

The Quantcast stats are interesting-- but they are more helpful for people who want to advertise on a certain site.

It depends on whether they've had their first cup of coffee of the day or not.

      Otherwise, what relache said, https://www.quantcast.com/hubpages.com?country=US

I see that the women rule this site, I am doomed...

Looking at https://www. quantcast.com/hubpages.com#!lifestyle, I realized... No wonder fashion, recipe and home related hubs do well here.  @paradigmsearch, I would keep visiting your science and maths hubs to ensure guaranteed readership of 1.

But I don't get how the quantcast gathers information on income. Was there a slot to fill in our income information when we register? How did this come about...

The Q info is about visitors, not exclusively Hubbers.

As to where they get the info, I've wondered that myself. The internet knows all. big_smile

You are right. Especially since I just noticed we are getting slightly better traffic in July than in June. Anybody know what's up with that?

I think views are up because of the changes Google made in May.

If you go to quantcast.com and enter HubPages, you will get a demographic overview of the site and various stats.

But your individual readership might be really different from the site averages, and your Analytics should give you a lot of that data.

thank you for this...I entered my sub domain at this site and it states "data has not been shared by the publisher" - any idea what this means?

      1. relache profile image72
relacheposted 9 years agoin reply to this

HubPages is not going to reveal your individual statistics to the public at large.  They reveal chosen site-wide aggregates.

Go look at your Analytics for info about your subdomain.

Rochelle, as writers trying to attract readers, using Quantcast info about the site's visitors in general is incredibly useful in creating content.  Anyone who thinks that info isn't relevant to them in some way is probably going to make less money here than people who do use that info.

My mistake then. When the OP said "writers" I assumed he meant those who wrote for HubPages.

Hm, interesting. More women than men, largest goup 24-34. Useful to know who you're talking to.
Thank you Relache, you should get paid for your services.

Women are the prime users of most parts of the internet including content sites and social networks.

According to Analytics, the majority of my readers are male, and that was the case even before I very recently started to write for men--my hubs used to all be aimed at women.

It wouldn't really do much to write articles that fit HubPages reading audience. It's the articles themselves (the stuff you write) that brings that audience to HubPages, there's no internal thing that says, "Hey, I'm 26 and female... I probably should visit that HubPages site."

If you write articles that fit a 60

If you write articles that cater to a readership of 60 year old males with a BS, then that's who you'll bring to HubPages and that demographic will show up a little more in the stats.

I have heard that you are good at that. I have tried to get my account deleted from B too, and even wrote a bubble about "The Bubblews staff are racist". All they did is delete the post. My account is still there.
Maybe you should write a hub about "How to get banned on HP forums". I know I would read it, even if it isnt a recipe.

I seem to excel at being banned here, but I don't think I could get banned from Bubblews if my life depended on it. You could make a bomb threat and they wouldn't close your account.

I read one article that said if you close your cookies, so that Bubblews is no longer able to get into your computer and sell your history, they will close your account.
Unfortunately, I am too lazy for that.
Actually I am too busy. There is some guy down at the beach this morning giving away free puppies. Wouldnt want to miss out on that!
