   diversity ( intermixing of cultures), how humans would look like after a thousand years?

   imagine peolple having to mix cultures over and over again for a thousand years.... until we end up as one nation, one color, one creed don't you think there might be a chance for a united philosophy???

   Not likely.  Or maybe I'm just a born pessimist.  My theory is, you get 3 people together, each 2 will start plotting against the third. 
   
   Likewise, if we were all tossed into a mixmaster and came out looking so alike our mothers couldn't tell us apart, we (as a species) would still find something else to fight about before noon.  Maybe we'd get a war going between the Worshipers Of The Dawn and the Worshipers Of The Sunset with the Mellow Nooners stuck in the middle and the Midnight Express people going underground, but it would be SOMETHING.

   The divergence hypothesis assumes that the closer you get different cultures together the more they will become aware of and promote/defend their own culture. Which again makes space for conflict - and/or for cultural learning.

   I personally object to somebody automatically defining the word 'Diversity' with a race issue. Having been a keen student of Equality and Diversity, both terms are applied in a context which extends much further than the colour of your skin. A more apt term would be multi-cultural, and even that should not relate to skin colour. I see equality and diversity as encompassing every possible human trait: age, disability, religion, gender, etc etc etc....
   
   I would love to live in a multi cultural society with no discrimination and no fear, but I feel that is a long way off and probably would not happen in my life time. I believe that the biggest hindrance in my country (UK) is the failure of certain sections of the Muslim country to make allowances to accept the lifestyles of non muslims, something that I feel is crazy considering the majority are immigrants into this country. Not all of them of course, I have muslim friends, but many show an unwilligness to integrate with other communities - even speak with other people - It is unlike anything I have ever seen from another religion.
   
   As a non religious person, the muslim faith as a whole worries more than any other faith; as a generalisation of course, but having 10 women covered head to toe in a burkha, pushing you out of the way in a supermarket is something that I will never ever get used to.

      we could actually equate diversity to unity or oneness.... wherein we have 101 cultures in a single society but working and living in harmony, irregardless of age, sex, beliefs, religion etc.
      
      watch the rainbow--- 7 different colors, but presenting itself as one body, that is the RAINBOW.
      
      with the issues you have opened up regarding muslims, id rather keep my opinion, because i think that is a completely different issue that  actually may be a good topic for another forum.
