I'm a ex squidoo writer. I had two new hubs I built before my lens were transferred.
I'm getting comments on them.
What I want to know is, at Squidoo I had my comments made that I needed to approve them.
Now my lens are in hubs, someone must be commenting on them but I don't see any emails for me to be approve them.
Are they just added without approval now?
From your Account page, click on 'Comments' from the top menu. Then, click on 'Global Comment Capsule Settings – show settings.'
There, you can check the box: 'Comments must be approved before they appear.'
Click save at the bottom.
@ Writer Fox: I have found the comments, but having problems, I can approve them, but cannot comment (it says) "New comments are not being accepted on this Hub at this time".
I have checked the buttons for the settings.
Will come back to morrow and try again, I like replying to my comments.
I have corrected it, I check marked the wrong one. I can now reply. Thanks once again for your help.
Elsie, I noticed that we have the option to set it where non-hubbers can comment, too. I chose that setting on my account because I get a good bit of traffic from people who don't write online or who write on other platforms.
Yes Maria, I noticed that too, I like that very much.
We used to have it on Squidoo, but they stopped it, and comments dropped considerably.
Yes, we did, and they stopped it without letting us know. Or if they did notify us, I somehow missed it, and continued telling my readers that they did not have to be a member of Squidoo in order to comment. I soon found out that was not true, & had to go back and remove that from every lens. Grrrrrr. So very glad to have it back on HP.

I could not find an answer, searching the forums. On our Lenses that were transferred to HubPages, there are quite a few comments that mention Squidoo. If the word Squidoo isn't actually mentioned, often there will be something that references it. Are we supposed to leave those comments alone? I...

I'm reading an awful lot about Hubpages at the moment and while a lot of it is going in, not everything is and I'm certainly not very good at being able to reference back to where I read it. Frankly it's all very new!One thing which concerns me is fan mail. I've got a vague recollection of reading...

If I am not wrong comments were moderated before we were given the chance to view them and choose to accept or deny it, at least in case of unregistered users. Am I wrong in thinking this was the case and it was just something on QnA?If it was, is this no longer the case?I have been getting a lot...

An interesting take on the demise of Squidoo. Some spot on, some misses the mark, lots left unsaid - but then it is an external perspective<link snipped>So what bits would you underline - and which bits were missed out or glossed over?Or would you rather comment after the final payout has...

Normally, I approve 99% of all comments left on my hubs. But twice today, and once yesterday, there were comments left, all by "anonymous," that I simply denied because they were just way out of line. Not demeaning, offensive, hateful, or anything like that...just WAY off topic.In...

For years I have been diligent about responding to questions left on my hubs. But now I've discovered comments are being published on my articles without appearing in my Comments section, so I look like I'm rude and ignoring readers who go to the effort of writing.Today I spent ages waiting for...
