Looking for any tips regarding Zazzle.

I signed up with them an unknown time ago. But never did anything with them. Now I am. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I think it would be a good idea if hubbers who have a store on Zazzle, could post some information that would allow us would be Zazzlers to look at their products (link? user name?) so as to see what others do, I find myself floundering a bit when I enter the site and I do plan to fill up my quite ancient and empty store. Thanks for this thread it came just at the right rtime for me.

I just put up a range of things, noticed what sold and put up more like that.  For me, big clear graphics designs and funny cartoons. Sometimes niche products like greetings cards for non-traditional events.

Hmmm. I see they want to know all sorts of things about me. The plodding continues...

Apparently nobody is too enthused about this thread. I'll post my newbie adventures as they occur, might be of help to someone down the line.

A hubber, Sandy Mertens did a hub where she gives instructions using her Zazzle postcards. You might find some information if you search Zujava.  There use to be those who used Zazzle alot there. I haven't done it in a long time and could use HTML when I did.

If you know of a good hub about Zazzle, post the link here. And that goes for anybody.

I don't have the link but Greek Geek did an excellent one on Squidoo. It must have come over. Perhaps if you contact her.

I use Zazzle and find I make more from others promoting my products, than my own self promotion. I am not sure what I should read into that. :-/

I have written a post about how to link the images in, if that helps.

I personally love Zazzle and I think they have a product which would link to virtually any hub topic.

Like psycheskinner, I just put up a range of images intended for postcards.  The successful ones have turned out to be vintage map scans, in particular, for some totally unknown reason, a vintage map of Pennsylvania.

I did find it very slow at first and nothing sold for a very long time.  Now I have a steady if small trickle.  I have done close to nothing to promote my store though.

I write humorous things on shirts and do iphone cover photos and whatnot. It is fun to do when you are bored but you really have to have the right timing with the right product idea to make serious money. I just find it hilarious at what you can create. Clearly I don't do it for the funds but if you are bored...go Zazzle smile

Do you know a good hub about Zazzle? Post the link here.

Since we  don't have a capsule for Zazzle, only links can be used (within the Terms of Use guidelines).

Paul Edmondson commented on this in the forum about "Why Can't We Have A Zazzle Capsule just Like Amazon Capsule on Hubs"

Like millions before me. I shall come up with a bunch of weird pics. Who knows? Who cares? We do what we do... I wonder if links are allowed from there to hubs. Reverse thinking and all that.

I found that using Inkscape to make graphics for products was a ton easier than using Photoshop, Illustrator or GIMP. Although I still used those for some stuff then imported to Inkscape.

I have made a few dollars from Zazzle but nothing big.

I am a former Squidooer. I have been deleting Zazzle product links right and left from my old lenses. You can only have two. I just include some of my images and include the link below and/or in and About the Author section. If there's a better way, I sure would like to know.

I'm continuing to muddle along with my Zazzle adventure. This is certainly the right time of year to start doing it. One thing I've already decided is to not put any Zazzle links in my hubs; too risky perturbing google me thinks. Besides, based on my Amazon experiences, my hubs aren't conducive to that sort of thing anyway.

Well, I uploaded a grand total of one image. Then I plastered that same image everywhere Z wanted me to put an image. Then I told Z to plaster that image on all 96 of their products (was able to do that with just one click). Z says it will be 24 hours before I see the results of all this. I can't wait to see how badly I screwed this all up. big_smile

    Anything I should know?

Oh, good. I discovered the Z forums. HP shall be further spared. big_smile

Hey, don't go off to the Zazzle forum without continuing to tell us here at HP about this saga, I'm definitely following it with interest.

Thanks, but I suspect we are a cult of two. lol

I was going to do a hub about all this, but anything written about Z is a wwwaaayyy over-saturated topic. Truly hopeless on that score.

And as for a particular Z store actually getting traffic (much less sales), that looks equally grim. I'm pretty much just going to phone it in as I do with Bubblews posts these days.

So, my search for a project to truly throw my heart and soul into still continues...

In fairness to Zazzle, I thought I should post an update.

    Quite frankly, I'm impressed.

The results of my completely idiotic, newbie endeavors of yesterday have come in.

I am amazed. After Zazzle did their thing, the store and the products look great!

If potential customers were to somehow actually stumble across this store, there is a real chance they might actually buy something.

As a side note: yes, the one and only image I posted is a good one.

I am enthused enough to want to post a second image. At which point I will no don’t have to learn how to do the product-organizing thing.
