The first two in over a year -  it's a miracle!

      sallybea,

Congratulations!  I am about to attempt selling on ebay for the second time, and hopefully this time I will have a better understanding of how to "sell."

      Smiles,

      Kim

I definitely think it is worth another go - especially as Matthew went to so much trouble to make it better for all of us.

    Congratulations, Sally!
Never lose faith.  Miracles still do happen, even if it takes
years!!  Now, you can go out and buy yourself that hot chocolate and a scone!

You bet ya!  Jam and cream it is!
But, I would not get used to such luxuries.  It just might be
another two years......well, you know, with the economy and
    such.
In fact it might be wise to take a photo of this extravagance.
It could be a lovely memory one day.  Or, better yet, PROOF that these things really do exist.  Ya know, we are still going around and around about UFOs and aliens.  A simple photo would have put it all to rest.
Yes, I think a photo of your e-bay sale would be a very smart move.
    DJ. ;-)

Think I am going to keep the products my secret as I intend to make many more sales.

Good for you sallybea!  Ebay is one tough cookie to make sales from.

I have pretty good hopes now we have a Buy It Now Option.  It was never going to work any other way unless clicks were counted.

Well done Sally. I have made money from eBay sales but still nothing from Amazon, so go figure.

That is interesting - why would that be?  I have pretty regular sales from Amazon.  I do need to get back to adding more e-Bay ads to my hubs - as I removed them when they were failing so badly.  Early days, I think e-Bay sales are a little more lucrative thus far.

It makes it worth while when you get an actual sale!!  I recently got one that paid me $26!!!!!  Seriously!!!  I could not believe it.

donotfear: We aren't supposed to disclose earnings.  Just go back and edit your post, taking out actual earnings.    Congrats on your humongous sale!

What sort of items do you sell on Ebay.  I assume that it is "Buy it Now" products and not auctions.  I have never looked into Ebay, since people were complaining of no sales for as long as I have been here.

We have a new Buy It Now feature for e-Bay.  All your ads should relate specifically to subject or product you are writing about.  Many of my hubs are related to a niche subject but there is no reason why you can't write on your own specific hobby or interest.  Gear your ads to these subjects and place your ad next to where you are writing about the product.

I have sold a few eBay and Amazon items on my Hubs. I'm not setting an records but I do appreciate the extra bucks. I really try to find Amazon/eBay (Buy-It-Nows from Powersellers) that really go with the Hub.

Definitely the way to do it.

dougwest1: I have never sold and eBay item, but the mention of power sellers gave me an idea to try.  I try to only use the buy it now rather than strictly auction buying.

I have only ever made a couple of eBay sales and these I felt were more luck than intent as the buyer had to win the auction etc. Thank you for mentioning to option to use Buy it now from power sellers. This knowledge may make it easier to actually get some conversions going. I had not realized that this was a possibility being new from Squidoo!

The Buy It Now option only uses this option - no auction items as far as I am aware.
