How do I get out of the ad program? I want to be in the Amazon Associates instead.

They are completely separate. You don't need to leave one to join the other.

Go to earnings where the green configure button is for Amazon.  Click on green button. Scroll down page and you will find out how to change over to your own Amazon associate account.  Even if you switch to your own Amazon associate account, HP still has the 60/40 split.

If you leave the HP Earnings program completely, the only earnings you will have is sales commissions from your own Amazon Associate account.

Psycheskinner.  If you are part of HP amazon program, you can only use 2 text links for your own Amazon account.  You have to use one program or the other when using capsules.

Out of all the options, which is the best to earn the most money?

Far too many variables to give a fit-all answer.  The only way to know is to try it for yourself, for your hubs and the way you write them.

Most hubbers, though, find that using the HP programs is beneficial.  Not all, but most of them.

You can only use 2 textual links to Amazon, per hub, regardless of whether you are in the program or not.

I never thought about this before - Are you saying that we can put our blog Amazon Affiliate number into our HP settings? How does that pay out then, through HP or on our own account?

I assume that we would not enjoy the 8% commission unless we were selling gazillions though.

That is correct.  You would be paid through Amazon, and that in turn means you will need a gazillion sales to get the higher rate tiers.

As you say, you must have Adsense to use the HP program.  Beyond that, I'm not sure what your question is.

OK you have answered the question tho thks a lot. My question was if I really need to associate google AdSense to be be able to earn from hubpages

Offornagoro:  Yes if you want to earn from HP ads program.  You can use your own Amazon account if you don't want HP Amazon program.  If you use HP Amazon program, you need Adsense.    No Adsense, your only earnings is from sales of your own associate accounts.

Yes Slolars.   Your earnings will be according to fee payment schedule which is usually 4 percent.  The upside is that you will get 100 percent of sales instead of 60 percent. You will also be able to track which products were clicked and all sales. Paid through your Amazon account, not HP.

Difference is not a big loss    $10 item with HP at 8 percent you earn: 80 cents.     Your own Amazon:  40 cents.   Again, your own account earns all commissions for you.  So, with own account you might only get 40 cents instead of 80 cents, but what if that sale goes to HP which means you earn nothing with HP program.

There is no way to know how many sales or amounts of those sales for your hubs goes to HP.

At least with your own account, you see all sales, all shipped orders, items looked at with no sales.
