    God or You?

If God is omniscient (knows everything) then he already knows what you will do before you do it.

Since he also created Adam & Eve full in the knowledge of how events would unfold, the only conclusion must be that all of our actions are a result of God's will and that we have absolutely no control over anything we do.

I disagree. Why do you use a Yin Yang sign? Does it relate to your beliefs?

I do not think it is about control. It is more like steering. When we let go and let God, as they say, we do not give up control; we just let God take the wheel for a while, relying on ourselves and those higher powers to provide direction.

God is the highest , absolute authority; when he was raising his children He gave them direction where to go and what to do ' relatively' - with consequences . We do have the power of God and His presence to execute our plans or intentions - limited. Unlimited though is granted to "the Redeemed" ones - '' nothing is impossible to them who believe." Now, in all my life I haven't seen nor heard of single individual taking seriously the benefits of  redemption. Here - and there some small victories and we rejoice, Than some "individuals" take advantage those " less informed individuals" often start a " new church" and instead of pursuing things of the kingdom of God and his righteousness, kingdom of man flourishes ...

Depends on each individual person.  Being Christ committed means relinquishing control to God.

As for the serious answer -  our degree of freedom (and sovereignty) is quite in an exact proportion to our degree of awareness.

God gives you control. The more of God you have in Your Life the more control you have over your own life. I have found.

??   The more you subjugate yourself to His wishes and commands the more control you have over your own life?  Unless you're figuring that voluntary subjugation counts as controlling your life, while being forced to do the same does not, I confess that I'm confused.

Nope.  Never found anyone (or anything) worth truly subjugating myself to.

Can I presume that blindly following orders as to how to live your life makes you free in your opinion?

I should google who to unquestionably obey and follow?

              That doesn't sound particularly worthwhile.

Quite so.  My own mind is the next higher step, and has never found such a being.

Is next some mega church preacher?  That's worse than google!

Because you do not know true Spirit. If you align your spirit with Spirit you have undreamed of possibilities which equates to total control and mastery over oneself.
As I have experienced and do believe.

    Dear Michael Milec,
I am always glad to hear from you because it seems to me that you are in touch with true happiness. Inner peace and joy comes from quiet communion with God.

I believe the laws help us stay on a straight and narrow path which leads to true happiness.
Not the false, temporary happiness we try so hard to find in the world.
Those who believe in God often seem not to make sense. Thats because somewhere beyond the intellect, we know another, deeper reality. Expressing it is not easy.  Thank you for contributing and revealing your devotional perspective.

Kathryn dear, thank you so much for you kind words. Your perception in my comments is new to me to know, since I do not know myself in a way you have just described. All about me is normal and natural lifestyle of a daily struggle on the road to the heavenly Canaan. Actually I think  about myself is ,all I say everybody already know even much more which is holding me back from more activity or writing a hub article . Your remark concerning " happiness'' is correct and as you see it too distractive due to influence of media and worldly affairs. My motto is simple " He is the Vine and we are the banshees . Period. Either we are or we are not. Positive affirmation puts me i total contentment ... Apart from Him - in His words " You can do nothing." Do you see it ? Most of the (christian) population is busy doing NOTHING  instead remaining in the Vine, before the Father prunes them out.

I do not believe "The father will prune them out." Where would they go?
We are part of the vine whether we know it or not. If we comprehend our eternal connection, it leads to "undreamed of possibilities." Jesus said, the harvest is abundant but the laborers are few. Once we know what the work is, if we do it, it leads to greater control over ourselves.
God pays attention to our efforts toward self mastery to reach Him, through our desires for Him.
I have heard if we do twenty five percent of the work, He does the rest. But it starts with us and our will.

There is possibility for every person to believe anything one chooses. The God's word is established forever.. Take it  as it is100%. There isn't 'or less.' Johns book of gospel chapter 15 states "I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bares no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he trims clean so that it will be even more fruitful..."The allegorical talk of that time was related to pacifical people who did understand nature of growing vine with the identical fruit ''the grape" all the time the same... That how the traditional 'preaching' has reduced the message fitting to everyone choice, as "you please" remains absolutely insignificant.

One speaks of letting God be in the driver's seat. But who moved over willingly?
Who is allowing God to do the driving?
Who agrees to learn how to drive and then drives themselves?

We do. We are always in touch with our WILL on some level. We never actually give up control. We are always conferring with ourselves about what we will, will not do or accept into our lives. It comes down to who is in control over our choices to follow, lead, resist, rebel, hate or love. When we give up our wills, our autonomy, we are utterly lost.

So God is in control, but he gives us control over ourselves and our lives.
    Right?
    … or is this wrong?
This gets back to "Blind obedience vs Willful obedience."
