Help Me Choose Photos After HubPro Editing

   Which of these two intro images is more appealing and why?
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   I just had my hub edited by HubPro. I think it's just nerves making me think the new photos are not as attractive as the ones pinned tens of thousands of times on Pinterest, but I'd like to ask others if they find the new ones just as "Pinterest-worthy" as the old ones.
   
   I'm not going to identify which is which.

         Sorry, I didn't give you the "why". The first one is clearer and cleaner, looks like a pretty high quality camera was used; or better photo shopping; the color is brighter and there's a symmetry to the layout of image and text. Also, the font looks better. I also agree that the bordering on the second image is distracting.

   I prefer the first. I think the second is just a bit too much..but that's probably just my preference.

   I like the first one better.  It's cleaner; I find the text in the second one where it bleeds over the border distracting.

      I'm working on replacing a lot of images for articles online and that is something very good to know. I used a lot of weird techniques to lengthen photos top to bottom and the strong, bright border looks like a loser. Thanks!

   From a graphical viewpoint, I find the first one aesthetically more pleasing (if a bloody handprint can be aesthetically pleasing, LOL!), because it is far less cluttered. I also consider the wording on the first image to be more informative.

   The first reads better both in text and image. The border and background elements in the second one are distracting and do not help.

         The second one was pinned, the first is the HubPro replacement. I guess I'll stick with the HubPro version, though, until I can make the craft again and get better photos.

            That is really interesting.  My traffic from my highest trafficked hub is also more from Pinterest than from Google. I often wondered what would happen if they were HubPro'd especially with the the pinned image.
            
            Did they suggest that you keep the original image somewhere in the hub or take it out entirely?  Personally, I would keep it somehow near the conclusion, so that if people did come to the hub through that pin, they would at least know they were on the right page and didn't get gypped. And that way, if it is the image that is pulling people in, they can still keep on pinning that image.
            
            Please do let us know how the traffic does on it.

               The original photos of the craft and all its steps were all removed as sub-standard. Multiple photos from it had been pinned, but mostly the photo of it on the mirror.
               
               I need to remake the craft  and re-take photos pretty quickly because it no longer shows an example of what the craft looks like if made exactly according to the instructions. The HubPro version is missing the center of the palm clearance that the original and commercial versions of similar decorations have.
               
               I know this seems like knit-picking, but it has gotten hundreds of thousands of views as it originally was because people liked the craft project and the craft project results look different now if one looks at the photos.

    I like the first one better too.  The second one looks like it is in a box or something and makes it confusing. There is also a shadow which is also confusing.  The first one is simple and clear, and the dripping paint looks like dripping blood.  It is also clearer and easy to see what it is about.

    First one: cleaner design that's more eye-catching and easy to read. The second looks rather dated in design, too many effects that obscure the message and looks, honestly, a bit cheesy by today's standards.

    Thanks for all the replies. I'll keep the HubPro version until I have a chance to make the craft again and get a better photo to use.
    
    What I've gotten from this thread:
    
    It's better to get a new photo than to try to make an older, lower-resolution, square photo work as a rectangular Pinterest image, despite success of an image on Pinterest.
    
    Photos of this craft in actual use on windows or mirrors probably do not make the best photos, a non-reflective, non-translucent background is best in this case.
    
    Readability is an issue for both photos. I need to take a clearer photo and ad text that's more visible and not so close to the bloody bits.
    
    The appearance of the finished craft doesn't really matter, only the arrangement of the elements in the photo do.
    
    Things that get popular on Pinterest aren't necessarily good.
