Religion & Philosophy is misleading as all sub-categories are religions. There is no philosophy. There are various discussions about philosophy, spirituality and other related categories that are not listed. I think it would be a great idea if HubPages made these categories.
HubPages should have a poll or send out an email to all writers where we can suggest three categories we feel are relevant but missing. This would solve the problem of having to categorize our hubs (and questions) in the incorrect places because nothing else suffices.
You're right, R&P is pretty much all religion (and bizarre religious screeds). Real philosophy is actually under education and science http://hubpages.com/education/philosophy/3779 .
A note is Philosophy is also found in the Main Topic 'Education and Science'. The structure is:
Main Topic Education and Science
SubTopic → Philosophy followed by subtopics:
Ancient Greek Philosophy
Aristotle
Buddhist Philosophy
Christian Philosophy
Critical Philosophy
David Hume
Empiricism
Existentialism
Friedrich Nietzsche
Hindu Philosophy
History of Philosophy
Idealism
Islamic Philosophy
Medieval Philosophy
Philosophy of Science
Plato and Socrates
Political Philosophy
Rationalism
Hope that helps
Didn't know that! Thanks!
They should remove Philosophy from the Religion category then, because it misleads us also.
I thought so too especially with it as a Topic in the forums with the 'Switch to Topical Forums'. There the Main interest is religion vs Science, religionist vs.atheist, and maybe centered with sides chosen. Very little discussion of philosophy itself although is centric with philosophical differences. Perhaps that offers the Topic both for a Hub and forums with 'Religion and Philosophy' it is the first seeking support of the second especially with purpose of writing the Hub.
Thankfully they do have it also in 'Education and Science'. BTW for Hub Ideas there is Topic Tree that can be explored. There is a filter for the Main Topics at the top. I use yy browser for 'find' using the main keyword such as philosophy in this case seeing where that lands.

Hello,I have been "hubbing" so to speak for a couple of months now, and I am wondering the best ways to get more volumes of hubs.Is it a good idea to do say 5-10 hubs on a similar topic? Would hubpages allow this?

Philosophy and Religion aren't synonymous yet when going to the "Philosophy" and Religion select Category all the options available are religious. Also, not all Philosophy is Atheistic or Agnostic. It is quite clear that you need to either add more options under this subsection or just...
