Hi All,
I have been a member of HP for about 5 weeks now. I was a little anxious when I first started because I was not 100% positive it work or more precisely; that it will work for me. Well, in the last 2 weeks of having Google AdSense active, I have made a whopping $0.49 from the add program (Amazon Clicks but no Sales yet) Although chump change, it was just the confirmation I needed. I only have 5 Hubs which I struggled to write as my writing do need some work and I haven't really found my niche just yet as there are many things that interest me. Having this validation has inspired me to Keep pushing forward!
When I started, I stalked the forums to see if I can find a Newbie to confirm that it is possible to earn on HP but I found nothing. So i'm writing this post to rally the newbies to not quit, it really is slow but Rome wasn't built in a day.
Good Luck and Good Afternoon!
Congratulations Keino! Keep up the hard work.
Hi Keino, great work. I was under the impression from reading posts here that adsense wouldn't look at you until you had featured 10-15 hubs but I see you have proved that theory wrong. (perhaps this is the advice if you want to earn more than $0.49 maybe $1 if you double the number of hubs)

WAIT! Before You Sign Up...
... We recommend publishing at least 10 high-quality Hubs (entirely original and filled with useful, well-formatted information, containing at least 1,000 words and at least two images) before signing up for AdSense. It can also be a good idea to wait until your oldest Hub is at least one month old before applying (which you did after 5 weeks).
We have found that most Hubbers who are declined for having insufficient content often have not yet met these minimums.
This is not to say that you have to have ten superb Hubs and an account that is at least one month old to be accepted into the program, but if you want to play it safe, it is a good goal!
Thanks Fashionboots,
I actually read that when I first got started. I just couldn't wait that long to try so I did. I actually wrote the 5th Hub after I was approved. And I am planning a series of hub titles / topics on the thing i'm most passionate about: Financial Literacy and building a legacy. It is really hard for me to write on a random topic just to get an extra hub. I did that for the first two and don't plan on again.
Thanks for your response and the tip. I really just wanted to share that not everything is written in stone.
Congrats! 49 cents in 2 weeks with just 5 Hubs is pretty good. It's nice to see the money roll in, just gets better as you go.
Thanks! I put some extra effort into promotions. Trying to systematize some things.
I just realize a mis-calc on my side. I've been here 9 weeks, not 5.
But everything else is constant. AdSense has only been active for 2 weeks.
yes, you said it right, it took me months to get my first penny, so give your hubs some time to get heat up
Congrats! Make writing a fun, and cents will grow-up to dollars! Just keep writing.
Nice start and a great outlook for the future!
Finally a post that's encouraging than gloomy.
Great job Keino! It's nice to see you are already beginning to make money. I've been o Hubpages for years now and haven't done much with it. I've been writing for other sites. I've decided to get serious with HP. Here's to our journey as a HP writer! :-)
Thank you for this reminder to set up Google Adsense on HudPages. I read about it a while back, but never followed up. Your story has inspired me to move forward with this. Best of luck in all your endeavors. :-)
Awesome! I just made my 3 month mark and I'm up to dollars so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Payout threshold is high though, so here's to fast progress for everyone who continues to write!
Well done Keino! That is great news - and gives me encouragement to keep on writing!
Congrats Keino!
I for one especially enjoy these threads that give clear, correct, and current information.
For new hubbers the amount of data to consume is overwhelming, especially since out-of-date info isn't scrubbed and the most seemingly relevant fora are 6 years old.
I'm applying right now. About 7 weeks old, but only six published hubs. Was too scared of rejection earlier and crawling towards 10. Actually, not afraid of rejection per se, but the bureaucracy/busywork entailed by resubmitting if rejected the first time.
And, yes, half a dollar on a handful of hubs in a handful of weeks is no small chump change. I always tell myself with residual income: Don't think linearly, don't think exponentially - it's logarithmic.
Cheers again!
Jeramey
Nice start, keep at it and that is sure to increase. There are people with hundreds (likely some with thousands) of hubs and I have to give credit to them as it's not always easy to find time to write, but if you can this can be a decent passive income earner with time.
I personally wish I had more time this past year to be active on HubPages as I only checked in on it every few months, if that. It was passive income the whole year, but I can only imagine how much it would increase had I been more active and had time to get more hubs up. My goal for 2016 is to hit at least 100 hubs.
Well, it's not much, but I've only been back on Hubpages for just under a week and only have a small handful of articles published (like 5) and I've made $.13 cents. Whoo hoo. Just a little encouragement.
That's definitely encouraging! Thanks for sharing. Did you already have AdSense or did you just sign up for it with HP?

What milestones have you set for your hubbing?I decided to write hubs as a way to relieve tension. Just sitting down and writing something that is not class related is relaxing. Then I decided that I really like what I'm doing so I started to set goals for myself. Increasing my followers from 18 to...

I seem to be seeing a lot of posts from Hubbers who are generating reasonable income for their work even after a short time. I've just read a post from a woman who has made $30 dollars from adsense after only 16 days Hubbing! I have been Hubbing two weeks and have nine hubs running. I am signed up...
