Hi Hubbers,
I'm having troubles getting my Hub to pass QAP. I've been through the process a few times and I don't understand what's missing.
Will you please give feedback on my Hub Guide to Working Overseas and Travelling (must be signed in to view). What can I do to improve? Thanks!
If 'suitventure' is your business, then QAP won't approve your hub as it sees it as self-promotional.
Your links could be a problem, although they provide useful info. Try putting them into a link capsule instead of including it in the text.
Make sure your images are offered under an appropriate and legal license for you to use.
Also ensure your text hasn't been published on another site previously - HP doesn't allow duplicate content.
Other than those (possible) issues, it looks like a good hub for a first-timer
Hi,
Thank you very much for your feedback.
SuitVenture is my site, that's right. I'm offering the article as an expert in my topic area, and this article content is unique.
They are my images - is it important that I license them myself?
It seems like perhaps I should rename my user. The article is well rounded and links to many good resources, but if for some reason they don't want it posted under my site name, then I can change it.
Thanks again
Seems like you can't change your username either. I guess I'll bin the article and rewrite it under a new user.
No problem using your own images - that's always the best option. You don't have to change your username, but now's the best time to do it
You could build up a great niche of articles in this topic, and it's fine to link to your website in your profile.
HubPages does not want self-promotional actions or articles, regardless of the name it is published under. If your intent on this site is to promote your own, you may find it frustrating and unproductive to try and develop content here.
Hi Relache,
Thank you for that. Are you able to clarify what exactly constitutes self promotion? Are there some exact guidelines I can read?
It stands to reason that on occasion that as a topic expert I should be able to link to my own referential resources, as support not self promotion.
It is possible to promote your business on HubPages, but you need to do it in a subtle way. If you are blatantly self-promoting, then you're in trouble.
For that reason, a username that's the same as your business is a bit of a dead giveaway.
That said, there may be other reasons why your Hub hasn't been accepted. I havent checked all your links, but you can have only TWO links to the same website in a Hub.
Thanks Marisa. I've checked all the links as I know about the limit of 2.
I think I'll just create a new user and see if that helps.
Thanks everyone for your input
I find your article rather confusing as it is very generic and includes very little that would not be immediately obvious, and it leaves out some really extremely important steps even at this level--like getting a work permit.
Thanks. I'll add a section regarding work permits, however this is intended to be a starter article. Obtaining a work permit is different in every country so it needs to be separate.
I disagree. Every single thing you mention has a general level and a nation-specific level. Work permission is probably the second most important thing to consider after being able to find a job at all. You neglect to mention that overseas work requires legal permission *before* you enter the country. By not even mentioning work permits you are basically saying they should just go to a foreign country and look for work. In most cases that would be a disastrous and illegal strategy.

Help! I woke up this morning to find that one of my mid-range performing hubs, "What is Creation, by Definition?" (http://lauraschneider.hubpages.com/hub/What-is-creation) had plummeted to a score of 55. It was 74 on Sept. 8th, 2013, and I know it is a well-written article with 3...

I know there is a rule about "self promotion in the forums."I just want to clarify what it means. Does it mean there is a blanket ban on all links in our own posts that link to any hub we've written or site or article we own?ORAre we allowed to post our own hub links if relevant to the...
