Community News vs Freeform discussion? It isn't clear to me where any forum question I post should go. How do YOU decide? I don't see "topics" under Community News and "Freeform" to me means "anything goes". I just don't know.
It's simple once you know. Anything to do with writing on HP: hubs, publishing and related subjects goes here: http://hubpages.com/forum/hubpages. From there you can choose your category. I agree that 'freeform discussion' is confusing and probably should be deleted as a category.
Anything else: personal stuff, views, politics and all the rest goes here: http://hubpages.com/forum/topical
If you look to the top left page. It will either say "Switch to topical forums" or "Switch to HubPages forums". That's how you can check where you are
I see now - that little button. In all my years here, I NEVER SAW that button. I'm not the most observant person on the planet

I've decided to make a daily commitment (M-F) of posting a "help thread" on the freeform discussion for users to get help from the community. I understand there are places and forums designed for this but there has been an issue with relevant content coming up on the main forum page. A...

I've come to the conclusion that in order to get people to even look at your hubs, you must post in these forums. It may help get a few more fans, but if it doesn't, what have you lost. I've come here to hubber's hangout to see if anybody will become curious about my writing. I'm guessing I'm not...
