How Long Do We Get to Change an Article Before It's Deleted?

I just got an email telling me the nine year old photos on my hub are not high enough quality and that it could be moved to Delishably if I take new ones. The thing is, I don't have time right now to get to the grocery store for ingredients, nor to make the four different types of cake decorations and photograph their steps.

How long does HubPages let you wait to fix hubs they've identified as substandard yet paradoxically wish you to change so they can be moved?

The timing couldn't be worse. I have projects I've already committed to, including a series of paintings, and I'm not a fast painter.

I don't think you have to worry about them deleting it. They just won't move it to a niche site until it's fixed. Worst case scenario, it could be unfeatured. Even then, it will still be there whenever you're ready to work on it.

Thank you. I've never gotten one of these emails from them before, so I had no idea what actions they'd take if I didn't drop everything and quickly fix a hub that's a really low priority right now.

You might be able to find free pics on the internet just be sure you don't infringe on any copyright regulations. Try pixabay or wikicommons.

That would be a great suggestion if it weren't an original tutorial. I don't copy other people's projects. I create the craft projects I write about.

I recommend you take Sherry Hewins advice.  She is spot on.  They won't delete your article.  Worst case scenario, they will unfeature it.  Even if it were unpublushed, which is highly unlikely, it will still be where you can access it and make corrections when you have time.  Once updated it will be featured and/or published again.

Thank you. I've never gotten one of these emails before so I didn't know how long they give before unpublishing the hubs or whatever.

In the meantime you might be able to make some improvements to the images you have, depending on what the issues are.

Thank you. The issue is that the photos are nine years old and my camera was by no means new. Decent digital cameras just weren't in my price range nine years ago.

When they say quality, it is usually because the image is pixelated. And this happens because of HP's own settings. They take the image and make it full width. They should have a setting that doesn't expand the image more than it's own dimensions.

Anyway, all you need to do whenever you have the time is edit the pic and put it on a white background which is 520px wide. Use any free photo editing software to do this. I use Paint.net

What others have said - they don't delete the Hub.  If you don't fix the photos, it will simply stay where it is. If the photos are really bad, they might unpublish it, but they never delete.

There is no rush to fix it.  I've left mine for several weeks and still managed to submit it when I finally got around to fixing them.  There is a time limit:  Will Apse knows what it is, because he left some of his for a few months and I think he wasn't able to submit them.
