Links to HubPage articles on Niume won't work

I've been putting some short articles on niume which include a link back to a hub. The links to the niche sites work fine, but I have just discovered that links to classic HP either load very very slowly or give a "service not available" screen. I think this problem is something new.

Is it a problem with HP or with niume? Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm on niume too so I'll try linking to HP and see if I have the same problem.  BTW - have you earned anything yet on niume?  No need to tell me the amount, just wondering why I haven't reached payout yet.

Make sure it has hubpages in the url. The niche sites appear to work OK.

So far, I have earned about $20 a month.Last month I lucked out with a post I did in an hour that got 12,000 views. (I think it went viral--someone influential must have shared it because I got 6000 views in one day.) They payout when you reach $10, but you need 1000 views to earn $1.

I write on it because even tho most of the posts are far inferior in quality to HP hubs, niume posts can get indexed on Flipboard and HP posts cannot. Sometimes a post with catch fire on Flipboard.

I write so I can link to HP posts. I have seen some of my hubs get extra traffic right after I put the link into a niume post. I discovered the problem with the link because someone on facebook tried to click the link to read my Hp article and she told me it wasn't working. (A little bit of proof that linking to HP works to get me traffic on HP.)

But mainly I write on niume when I have something to say, just a short something. Not enough content for a hub. I write for the fun of it. It's my hobby. Iwrite under the name Cat Giordano, if you want to take a look.

Thanks for your offer of help.

One whole dollar seems painfully low for a thousand views..but if it is low effort maybe it's not that bad.

I was surprised how quickly the views came in. It is quick to do a niume post. I often just tke an out-take from a hub. Or I have files of poems that I have done. Not great poems, but acceptable. I'll put one of those up. I got a lot of views because I posted a lot. Sometimes twice a day. I've slowed odwn now, so I'll see how it works out. I might quite.

I'm definitely all about new ways to drive some traffic to Hubs..do you link to specific Hubs within a post and are you allowed to link your Hubpages profile on your account there?

On niume, you can link to anything you want. I even sold a couple of books using my amazon associates code in the link. The only rule is that your post must be a stand-alone post. They do not allow you to quote a paragraph and the use a "see more" link.

I use out-takes from the hub or I just rework a section of the hub or I come at the topic from a new angle. Then I say "Learn more about (topic) here:"

I sent an email to niume to try to find out why the links stopped working. No answer yet. My temporary work-around is to put the url in my essay and ask the reader to cut and paste it into their browser. It's inelegant. I guess in the future I will only write on topics that relate to hubs that are on niche sites.

I'll add one more thing. Don't overdo it. I'm not sure if too many links or irrelevant links will get your post deleted by the powers that be, but why risk it. Also, it is not polite to the reader. You want to get likes from the niume posters.

What's your niume handle? I'll go take a look at your posts.

Jesse have you tried putting a link to a hubpages post into your niume post ? Did it work or did you have a problem. Could you please test it and let me know. In the meantime, I will put a link to my blog in a niume post and see if I have the same problem.

Niume said that the problem ws not on their part. That doesn't make sense because the link works fine if I put it i my browser or if I click on the link on my blog. (I sometimes link to a HP post when I write on my own blog.

                Thanks.

This is the text of the email I got from niume. They say it is a problem with HP. So I will contact the team about it.

"This is not a problem from our side. It is a problem with the provider of the link you are using.
You need to ask hubpages, not us."

Jesse: I just put a link to my blog post into a niume post and it worked fine. But my links to hubs with a hubpages url will not load.  I have tried several different links. Let me know if you can see if the hubpages url links work for you. If I know it is not just me, maybe I can figure get someone either at HP or at niume to fix it.

I did a quick sign up with a post..how in the heck do you add a clickable link? I just saw the button where you add text or photo or a video. Oh well. At 1 dollar per thousand, I am not exactly inspired to contribute anyway. Good luck though.

You use your cursor to highlight the text. A little window opens with icons. You click the link icon. Then you paste in the url into the blank space and then press enter. Your text should turn blue. Sometimes I have to try twice.

Yea I did that. I could paste the link but it was not clickable.
