Im kind of confused of how articles are being scored. Im still working on with the 5 articles for QA purposes and I just noticed that one of the articles I written scored higher than the recent one I published but this particular article didnt passed and been getting back to a draft while the other one passed and been featured. I have been working on to edit it for quite awhile but it still not being accepted. Am I missing out something?
Hi Aisha,
You might have received any email from HubPages editors regarding the article that's not getting featured. Maybe, it contains some spammy elements or maybe you are not crediting photos on your articles, third possibility could be the referral links, if any, are not matching to your article. If, the article contains any amazon capsule remove it and try to publish again.
Hope it will help
Thanks Misbah, Yes, I received an email about that and Im just confused because there are no amazon capsule links in it, properly credited photo just like on the other articles I published. For spammy elements though Im not sure which exactly they are pertaining too. At first I thought I was using too much of the same word so I edited and resubmitted but its still being rejected. As a matter of fact I revised it 3 times already and been rejected 3 times.
Are you using any referral links?
If yes, don't remove at first. I would suggest that you to hide the capsule and submit it again. Are you using the correct disclaimer? Or are you using any hyperlinked words? If yes, remove and try again
There is a facebook link in it though but not a referral kind. Is that something I should remove? I include it because I think its relevant as I use it as source for the article and yes Im using a disclaimer for opinion.
I think Facebook link is not an appropriate link. Maybe it's good to remove and publish back. I hope it will get featured then
I noticed some hubbers includes link of a website si I was thinking it might work for a facebook page but thanks I will try doing so.
One more thing if you're using any links from HubPages that are of any niche sites. This also creates a problem
No, it's the other way. It is that niche sites should not link to Hubpages.
One of my articles was on discover. Published but not featured. It was just getting traffic. The problem was that I was having a link to a friend's article on my article. The link was from LetterPile and my article was on discover. After, removing that link it got featured
There is definitely some other reason involved, perhaps inappropriate linking. Linking to a niche site is definitely not considered spammy. I do it all the time with no issue. You can check with other hubbers too.
Okay, I will put that link back today to double-check. If it happens again
You were right CYong, The link to Letterpile was not a problem, as the article is still featured.
I think the problem was from any other links. I also have hidden a capsule containing links in the particular article. I think any of that link was creating that problem.
That's truly strange because I don't see any problem with these links. I just hid them as the article can go fine being Opinionated.
I can't see the words on your screenshot but I agree that the whole topic of outbounds can be confusing. Different editors probably have slightly different standards too.
I just stick to linking to the niche sites and sometimes, external sites that are truly authoritative or informational.
Check it now, CYong
And here's the hidden capsule
Anyways, Thank you so much for the guidance, CYong
I truly appreciate that
I never wanted to remove that LetterPile link.
Blessings to you!!
Hey there, just share the email link in the forum. That will give the community a chance to access your 'not feature' articles and advice you well. Thank you and welcome to Hubpages.
Judging from this thread, it seems your English could use some work, along with punctuation and grammar.
Wonderlynd, please don't take offense to my comment. This is an American-based format. That said, we have many writers who do not hail from the U.S. However, those who are successful have mastered the English language, hard as that may be. I know our language has more exceptions to the rule than the romance languages and others, but proper English, grammar, and punctuation, in addition to well-written articles that answer questions, educate, or entertain is what will make you successful in HubPages/Maven.
Welcome and I wish you success!
None taken, I honestly love to hear other hubbers advise. Like I said Im still new to this and every feedback is appreciated.
I see. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience. I will work on editing my article and will also research and check on other hubbers how they properly do it. I appreciate you both.
Thanks CYong and Misbah for sharing your thoughts. Im still learning and trying to familiarize how it works. I appreciate your feedback Bravewarrior, I admit Im not a native speaker as I came from a different country but everyday I work on this. It also helps that the nature of my job allows me to talk to different people especially Americans.

Attention Hubbers! Check you hubs IMMEDIATELY. I was reviewing one of my hubs and found a link to another hubbers article. Puzzled, I went to edit mode to remove it but it didn't show up. Obviously, the editors placed it there. I have emailed them to remove...

I am hoping the Hub staff read this. I get so frustrated when my article does not pass after tryingeverything I can think of to fix the problem. It could be as simple as changing the photo but instead I am re-writing my article, cutting out good stuff that might lower the quality, when nothing is...

The feeling of first approved featured article in any site is good one for any author. Which was your first approved and featured article in hubpages? Can you share the link so that others especially the new authors here can go through it? It will be interesting to go through them.

I understand the rationale for removing amazon capsules. I'm very careful not to include amazon capsules unless they are 100% relevant, and I can provide a personal opinion. I rarely do more than one per hub.HP is not only snipping amazon capsules on hubs for niche sites, but also just to have a...
