Every Syrian refugee must be screened to make sure he or she is not affiliated with ISIS.
Is this too much to ask?

Or does Elizabeth Warren like Americans getting blown to bits?

This article has another point of view.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/syr … 74b734fc83

The question is, will Syrians adjust here? Many refugees end up giving citizens in other countries a lot of trouble because, as foreigners, they can't find work, they can't fit in and are not happy.

So there is a civil war in Syria…
Why again? What will end that war???
And how about Saudi Arabia taking in some refugees????

The thing about Syria is that it was a sophisticated, wealthy country before all this happened.  The refugees are mainly well-educated, intelligent people, well-trained in a profession or trade, who are unlikely to have trouble fitting in.  In Europe, many people think Germany had a hidden agenda in opening its doors to Syrians - it sounded like they were being humanitarian and generous, but in fact their industries are crying out for the kind of skills the Syrians can supply.

    From this article: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/ … -in-europe

"But an estimated 700,000 refugees and migrants, have arrived in Europe this year along unofficial and dangerous land and sea routes, from Syria, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Iraq, north Africa and beyond. Tens of thousands, including the very young and the very old, find themselves trapped in the open as the skies darken and the first night frosts take hold. Hypothermia, pneumonia and opportunistic diseases are the main threats now, along with the growing desperation of refugees trying to save the lives of their families.

Fights have broken out over blankets, and on occasion between different national groups. Now sex traffickers are following the columns of refugees, picking off young unaccompanied stragglers.

The United Nations refugee agency, UNHCR, is distributing outdoor survival packages, including sleeping bags, blankets, raincoats, socks, clothes and shoes, but the number of people it can reach is limited by its funding, which has so far been severely inadequate. Volunteer agencies have tried to fill the gaping hole in humanitarian provisions in Europe.

Peter Bouckaert, the director of emergencies for Human Rights Watch, said that all the way along the route into Europe through the Balkans “there is virtually no humanitarian response from European institutions, and those in need rely on the good will of volunteers for shelter, food, clothes, and medical assistance.”

Europe has found itself ill-prepared to deal with its biggest influx of refugees since the second world war. It is hurriedly improvising new mechanisms so that it can respond collectively as a continent rather than individual nations, but it is a race against time and the elements – a race Europe is not guaranteed to win."

Here is a rather interesting interview with President Bashar al-Assad himself. He seems pretty calm.
    http://sana.sy/en/?p=103658

"... the Western countries which declared war on terrorism still support it up till now. They do not fight it. It is used only in name for domestic consumption. The fact of the matter is that they use terrorism as a card to achieve different political agendas, even when this terrorism backfires and claims victims in their own countries. But they do not acknowledge this fact.:

"Those Western countries, led by the United States, in partnership mainly with Britain and France, and unfortunately some European countries which did not have a colonial history, do not accept independent states and do not accept peer relations. They want satellite states which implement their policies.

Of course, we are not against common interests with other states, with any state. Big states have interests around the world and we, as a state, have interests in our region. We are not a superpower, but when we work, based on interests, with those states, the interests should be joint interests.

They want us to act for their interests against ours. That’s why we have always been in a state of struggle with these states over our interests. For instance, we want the peace process, while they want submission instead of peace.

They want us to have peace without rights, which is not reasonable. They want us to give up our sovereignty, to abandon our rights which are acknowledged by international law, Security Council resolutions, and the numerous votes at United Nations for the return of our lands.

These are mere examples. There are many similar issues over which they consider Syria too independent a state. That’s why they thought that waging war on Syria and replacing the current government with a client government would make it easier and better to achieve their narrow interests."
    yikes yikes yikes ! ! !

Assad Says U.S. Foreign Policy in Syria Responsible for Civil War
"Assad asserted that although Western nations led by the U.S. claimed to intervene in the Middle East in order to stem the spread of jihadist militants, they actually assisted ultraconservative Sunni Muslim movements by sponsoring Syrian rebel groups, some of which went on to forge links with Al-Qaeda and ISIS. These groups have been on the forefront of the ongoing Syrian conflict that has killed hundreds of thousands and displaced millions more.

"The Western countries which declared war on terrorism still support it up till now. They do not fight it. It is used only in name for domestic consumption," Assad said. "The fact of the matter is that they use terrorism as a card to achieve different political agendas, even when this terrorism backfires and claims victims in their own countries. But they do not acknowledge this fact."

If Syrians actually believe what this president of Syria is saying, why would they like/appreciate US at all? We are the CAUSE of their Civil war!!!!! They might feel very justified at creating all sorts of havoc once they are allowed in …
    Who knows.

The best thing is to help Syria end their civil war.  How? Not side with the Sunnis???? Get the heck out of there and stop wheeling and dealing in

Kathryn ,  The right thing to have done was to protect a safe space for Syrians THERE in their own homelands especially given the cultural , political , religious  ,  familial differences being forced upon them AND the rest of the world , Can they assimilate ? Yes . Was it  the better choice for the cultural adjustments , No.

The political fiasco began by Obama -Clinton- Kerry for Syria will go down in history as the most inept politcal manipulation  ever perpetrated on ANY  people  ANY where ever .

The  political left in the western world just LOVES the negatives in the exploitation's of the much respected Native American Indian Tribes  ----- as an issue of negative human migrations  ,  BUT somehow explains away the same exact  manipulation of the innocent Syrian woman and children  as Okay ?   Shame on you and shame on the politics that  create it !

Maybe ,  Obama , Clinton , Kerry , should be tried for war crimes because of the Syrian issue alone ?

I think one day unhindered international movement will be a basic human right and people will look back on our period of history with pity and confusion.

I think you're right (if the human race survives) but that day is a long way off.  I'll never see it, nor will my grandkids.

Here's the story if you are interested. It is being touted as a way to ditch the need to carry; a wallet, keys, or ID card

For one thing , its called chemical weapons ,  NO ONE will  or should use them and get away with it!
Germany created its own problems while only trying to attain  new blood in an aging  work force population , simply annyalating it's own   peace and prosperity by  welcoming a warring and backwards culture into theirs

Question is , who is your mother country and What did your country do about the chemical weapons .
