Hi, Hubbers.
One of my recent hubs, <link snipped - no promotional links>, got over 140 views in less than 18 hours. Is this a stroke of luck, or is this really happening?
It must really be happening! You are a great writer and you put a lot of heart into your work. I saw one of your articles a few days ago and shared it with all of my autism communities and a group that I admin because it was very good. Keep writing!
It's not unusual. I don't know what your views were before this started. I imagine that it got shared on some social media if this is a sudden spike. You can look at your stats for that hub to see where your views are coming from. Sometimes it is a brief spike from FaceBook, Reddit, or Pinterest, and that's great. Even better if it's from Google, that's more likely to be a sustained traffic flow.
I have a couple that have been getting that much or more each day for months. It does happen. Congratulations, I hope your good fortune continues.
That's really great! Keep it up and you'll get a lot more than that!
That's great, Ivan! Keep up the hard work, keep writing, and keep exploring your interests in articles here on HubPages and I bet you'll see your traffic sky rocket. As for the link, we're not allowed to share any links to our hubs in the discussions as far as I know. Just the rules for everyone here.
You can, however, mention your hubs. It's linking to them that is not allowed. You could say something like "My hub on how to care for sick cats is getting lots of traffic." Then, those who are curious could go to your profile page and find the hub for themselves.
The only exception I know of is the "Improving Your Article" forum for requesting help to get a hub to pass quality control. Links to hubs are allowed in that section of the forums.
Also, I believe it is OK to post links to someone else's hubs -- just not your own as that is considered self promotion.

A couple years ago in 2011, I had a hub on another account that went up to 5000 views rapidly. Eventually it waned to about 1000-1300 views. Now after a couple years it gets about a few hundred views a day astonishingly. Would that hub be defined as "going viral?" I know it's not...

So, I've had a hub unpublished due to HP claiming that it's overly promotional. The hub only has 2 outbound links ( which is the number of links we're allowed to put for the other external sites ) this is the only thing that I'm having in my hub. There is also NO amazon products or Ebay or...

This doesn't make sense. My article "Gardening for Beginners: 10 Easy Steps to Sowing Seeds which currently ranks in fourth place (despite all the deranking) for "How to Sow Seeds" has had its title changed to "How to Sow Seeds( Plus A Definition)". I'll change it back when...

First a disclaimer is in order.I broke the evergreen rule with this approach. I knew it going in and did it anyway. What the hell, sometimes rules are made to be broken. Sometimes a gamble pays off, often it doesn't. I do live in Las Vegas though so it is in my blood! Hubs should be on evergreen...

Since I migrated here from Squidoo two months ago, I've seen a steady stream of threads in this forum, complaining about lost page views. There are a lot of theories about why it's happening, and how much it's happening, and what can be done to get into Google's good graces.Google is not my #1...
