I don't know about you, but I still have quite a few hubs that need a complete edit as in capitalizing the titles/subtitles, checking grammar/typos, changing photos and I never manage to do that in one session.
So at what time exactly do I hit the 'done editing' button? Every time I've changed something or are the edits immediately effecive and can I wait to push that button until I think it's all finished.
Edit: I wish it would be possible to edit in the background, get it all done in my own time and then make it visible to the outside world.
I'm in the same situation. Usually I try to get all of my edits done at one time, but sometimes I know I will still want to come back and change something-- especially photos, which often take a little longer to fix.
I will usually hit "done editing" while thinking "for now". I don't really know if it causes any problems. If your hub comes up for review, they usually make suggestions for further edits.
I'm interested in further replies and insights.
The best way to work on a hub is to do it on a word processing program, proofread it there, spell check it there, count the words, etc. THEN copy and paste it into the hub tool where you add photos, etc.
You can always do more editing later, but this way you don't feel rushed and nobody sees it until you have finished editing.
That's true and I'm sure a lot of us do it that way. Some of us, however have hubs that are 8 or 9 years old. Rules have changed and they might need a tune-up. I am more careful about my newer hubs, but still sometimes find an old one that is worth saving with a few changes.
I'm not talking about writing new hubs. I'm talking like Rochelle says about hubs that need a complete tune up.
I leave my hubs open until I've finished editing them. A long time ago—if I'm remembering correctly—I read a post from a former HubPages staff member who said that when we click "Save" in a capsule of a published hub that we're editing, the edits in that capsule are effective immediately and can be seen by the public.
Hi Bernice, still teaching English? How's it going?

Do you work on your "unfeatured" hubs to improve them? Or let them stay unfeatured? On your hub list, when you see the message "This hub is not featured because it doesn't receive sufficient engagement" next to one of your hubs, are you likely to revamp the hub to try to get it...

Even if we don't press the "Save" button, any changes we make to a hub become live as soon as a capsule is saved. Is this the case when capsules are moved around? Could we have a button to take hubs "off air" while we're editing?

How do you provide comments on hubs? Do you write them immediately or come back after thinking? When I comment on hubs, I typically visit at least twice. The first time when I find it and decide I want to read it, and the second time when I leave a comment. I usually set aside a day to read many...

Blergh, so I'm going back to my original hubs that are usually a single picture with a block of text and editing them so that they are prettier, longer, and hopefully seen as more Hubpage's friendly. It just seems like it takes forever to revamp them. Does anyone have any tricks to help the process...

I constantly look for ways to improve a hub, old, new or middle aged. It seems each time I'm brought back to a hub, by a new comment or notice any opportunity to change it I do so.Now when we do that, the hub is no longer active until reviewed. It becomes unpublished. Most of my changes...

It seems I may have placed this message in the wrong place ... so I'm posting it here:When HubPages designates a hub as "idle" does it still treat that hub the same as active hubs? Does HubPages still keep the statistics page up-to-date? Do they still check for broken links, violations,...
