Coping with people who twist what you say
You can say something that is clearly and specifically about yourself, and they read it that you attacked them, even if it has nothing even remotely to do with them. Besides telling them to jump off a cliff, how do you get these people to read - or listen - to what was actually said, not what they assumed must have been said? I've taken interpersonal communications classes, and still don't know what to do about them. Ideas?
suggestion... find a new group of people to communicate with. you're obviously surrounded by people who are not meshing with you, and that doesn't take a very educated guess.
Hang out with people who DON'T think the world revolves around them.
How about trying to confront them. Say, "hey, how did you take what I said and made it about YOU?"
That's what I would do. I can't tolerate people like that..
just dont say any thing when your around them dur de dur
Jack slap them.... Cough I mean.. dont talk to them anymore. Ive found those kind of folks never change..
of course you could just twist what you say so they dont have the chance. LOL
it depends on who they are i suppose. The easiest thing to do is avoid them but that's the easy way out. if it's someone i want/have to be in relationship with i just keep trying to get to the bottom of it. i'm innately curious, so someone doing this would make me curious as to the reason they are doing it. Do they do it with everyone? or just with me? if it's just with me, they must have an issue with me that makes them think this. What is it? How can it be resolved? A lot of times if you don't react angrily and just ask questions people will fess up to what's really going on.
You know, I'm a pretty good listener and it's so funny how someone could say something then turn it around and say they said something else. People like that communicate with themselves a lot.

I recently joined the gofundme website, in hopes to get donations to save my house. But, I have been on there for almost 3 months, and have not received a dime. I also looked at some of the other things people are asking for. Like one family got over $5,000 to find their dog, and another girl got...

I sold my 1991 Dodge Stealth with over 200,000 miles on it about two months ago for $2,500 and now the people are calling me threatening that if I don't pay for things to be fixed on it they are taking me to court. The car wasn't inspected and they knew it had a bad wheel bearing, the car made a...
